    Degu Food

    Hi,

Just checking to see if it is ok to give degus anything else in the chin mix besides the pellets.

We feed them (four girls) a 50/50 mix of chin and guniea pig pellets everyday along with some timothy hay. They do get the occasional treat of a baby carrot or unsalted peanut in the shell.

    Thanks,

    K.

    Hi welcome to pet talk!
I don't know anything about Degu's but I will PM "Luckies4me" for you. She had a Degu and is very knowledgeable.

It depends on what else is in the mix. Can you list the other items found in the chin mix? I also give my degu dried carrots, peas, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds as treats. Just make sure to stay away from sugary foods, since they cannot process sugar. Apples can be given occasionally though. You can also join Paw Talk. They have a very great forum section dedicated to degus. www.Paw-Talk.net And if you join make sure you say Peanutsmom sent you!
