Ferra the ferret pics!

Ferra is fitting in just perfect! She has been here almost 2 months now, and is just the sweetest, funnest and most precious little girls I have ever seen! She now loves to eat M&Ms, ice cream, snicker bars, she loves to drink pepsi and sunkist. I am posting pictures of her, because she is just to beautiful to hog all to myself! Hope you all enjoy

Very cute, but I'm not sure that the things you listed are very good treats for a ferret I think she could get sick wating that stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I am not really sure. I did not think they could make her sick, only if she eats alot of them. I read of a ferret care site that you should let your ferret try anything you eat, just to see what all they like. I do know they are lactose intolerant, just like cats, but when she had her first vet visit/vax my vet said that anything is bad in access, but a few here and there are not bad for them.
I will have to look more into it. Sorry to be nasty and gross, but her poop looks great, lol. I mean no runnies and she goes regularly.

Yes they can make her sick, maybe not right away like most would think, but ferrets are well known to get insulinoma which can be caused by eating sweet foods for a longer period of time. Thats ONE reason why I don't feed those types of foods to my ferrets, the other reason is simply because they are 100% carnivores, they have NO cecum, which is what digests everything but meat.

oh, and lv4dogs is totally right, sugary treats can be very bad for ferrets. Even the canned treats at stores, with tons of sweetened raisins and fruits, shouldn't be fed except on the slightest occasion. My ferrets love turkey baby food, liver treats, and the very occasional raisin, though

You guys gotta stop, your making me scared

I did not think they were bad. Ferra wont eat raisins, or baby food, or cooked meat, or raw meat. She hates stuff like that! I try to get her to eat it, she just does not like it.
She only gets maybe 2-3 M&Ms daily, plus froot loops, and the other stuff, is not an everyday thing. She does not even like ferretbites (store bought chicken and liver treat)
Thank you for letting me know though, because I just thought since the vet said ok to it, and because she flips over things like that, that it was ok in moderation. Guess I was just giving in to her, because she is so sweet

She thinks Dee is hot stuff!! OF COURSE she will be his Valentine
