A few of my feral babies

Most of them didn't show since I was armed and ready with the camera. Naturally!

This is Rosco and Abigail's momma. I have been working really hard with her and I can sort of pet her. She now rubs all over my legs when I feed them. She darn near trips me but if she sees my hand coming she bolts! It is hard to see her true colors because it was evening and I had to use the flash. She is a light gray with spots of peach and she has the most beautiful light celery green eyes.

She is really tiny and petite.

This is Rosco and Abigail's sister. She has just recently come around to where I can work with her. I was shocked tonight because I think I could have reached out and grabbed her because she was so curious about the camera flash that she walked right up and sniffed the camera! Shocked me! I should be able to get her soon. I don't know what I'm going to do with her when I do get her though....Debbie!

It's hard to tell in the pics but she is a very dark charcoal gray with peach spots on her throat. She has pretty green eyes.

Here she has a mouth of food and I won't leave her alone. She is about ready to boogey!

Here she is with her momma

Here's momma, baby and one I call Big Daddy. He really is BIG!

I call this big husky orangie Big Head because he has that wide space between his ears. He's super skittish.

And this is a short haired Stubby. She has the Rosco look alike baby that I couldn't get a picture of tonight. He/she was way to skittish and kept bolting so I left him/her alone.

And then there are these two maniacs!

I'm working with the shelter now on getting these kitties fixed. I'm going after the girls first, babies included. There is one Large hunk of gorgeous gray kitty that shows up now and then. He actually scares me! He is not afraid and will not run. He sits right by the spot where I place their plates and won't move. His eyes tell me that he will kick my butt if I make the wrong move but he never flinches. I know this one could be dangerous but someday I hope to get him.

Wow Lisa they're gorgeous. Have they all been fixed yet?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Gorgeous dilute torties! One of my favorites...along with dilute calicos. It would be nice to get Abigail & Rosco's sister and let her join the herd...but at least get her spayed. Their mom at least doesn't look like she's nursing or pregnant, but that can change so quickly. And that orange tom cat sure looks like he could be daddy of many of yours. Hope trapping goes well, and if you need any help...yelp!

Wow, they are all gorgeous. R&A's mom is beautiful. She looks a lot like our found cat this summer, Mattie.

I love Big Head. What an handsome boy. There's something about that face.

Good luck with the spay and neuters.

Wow Lisa, even your porch kitties are stunning!! Guess I have never seen an *ugly* kitty though! So that color is "dilute tortie"!! It is gorgeous!! Just fabulous!! The remaining sibling - Rosco and Abigail's sister - isn't she much bigger than R&A?? She seems very big and sturdily built. Could she be pregnant?

The orange tom - "Big Head" - what a terrific looking kitty he is

Gorgeous cats! I think the dark gray kitty has a British Shorthair look - same smile, if you know what I mean. Good luck with them.

Have you ever tried to tame an adult ferrel? With success? Are there any tips?

  14. #14
Wow, you have been looking after many beautiful porch kitties. I hope they are easy to trap

So are you going to tame them and adopt out or keep on feeding a large extended family. Either way you are doing such a good job looking after them all.
