Chester, my hero!

Maybe this should be under cat rescue but since the cat did the rescuing, I put it here.

In the winter, I keep a iron pot of water on the furnace to help keep moisture in the air. I noticed it was a little low the other night but laid down to "read for a bit" and fell asleep.

Next thing I knew, Chester was by the bed meowing his head off. I tried to shoo him off but he just got louder. So I got up to see what was bothering him. Sure enough, the pot had boiled dry!

There was a hot smell but nothing was damaged. I was able to refill it and things are fine. You can bet I won't ever do that again. It will be refilled every night, morning or before I leave the house.

The other 3 were sound asleep!
