Strange dog in backyard

Today when I took Bull out to potty I heard tags jingling. I didn't see another dog, but then I looked around the neighbor's truck and saw a black dog. I don't know how to explain his looks other than he looked like a pitbull, but had grey tiger stripes on his back. That's the only place the stripes were. I immediatly picked Bull up, thinking that even if this dog was as sweet as can be, Bull's a puppy and easily excitable, and didn't want anything bad to happen. To either dog! We went inside and the dog left. Haven't seen him before or since. Are there pits with this type of coloring? I've never seen one like him before! I wish I would've had my camera with me!

It very well could have been a Pit Bull with brindle markings.

Yep, Vette, I bet you're right! It was just weird cuz the markings were only on it's back..no legs, butt, head, anything. But I still bet you're right. If I see it again, I'll try to get a picture. It was a neat looking dog! Thanks.
