    potty on floor

my lab puppy was doing really well with potty training, he whines when he needs to go out. today there was no warning. he did both on the floor without so much as a whimper out of him. i know he's young, but he was doing so well. i have those potty pads that are on the floor but he drug it into his kennel and went on the floor.

  2. You're going to have to be patient! That is the BIGGEEST, MOST IMPORTENT KEY PART IN PUPPY TRAINING! Try to keep your cool, puppies will do anything that will get them into trouble! LOL!

    Its ok...it happens to everyone!

i'm just so worried i'm gonna screw him up for life by doing something wrong!

  4. Oh that picture is so cute. love his tongue sticking out there.

  5. No need to worry...just remember to correct him, NEVER USE HIS NAME WHEN TELLING HIM HE IS DOING SOMETHING WRONG! He will misinterrprut and think that his name is a bad thing! He will grow out of the "accident" process...establish a spot outside and when he goes there or anywhere outside...give him a treat and LOTS of praise! That way doing his "buisness" outside is a good thing!

    Remember...keep your cool!

Let your dog out every hour or so, he will get use to going to the potty outside.

Yep it happens to us all...I got Gracie at 9 weeks and she did sooo good...I think I took her out every 2 hours at first..the first week she went in the house 2 times and I thought boy this is easy!! Then the next week she went in the house twice in ONE DAY and I was freaking out..lol..thinking I messed up somehow...but you start over..stay as patient as possible...NEVER correct if you dont catch them in the act...they won't have a clue what you are talking about if its done already..

She is 7 months now and hasn't had an accident in the house since she was 4 months..but she had probably 6 or 7 up til then...and every time it was MY fault, not hers..she always has to go when she eats...and if she they are sniffing around, take them out or if they are playing hard...they have to go go go..
At about 6 months they can finally hold it for a pretty long time..but still I wouldn't go more than 4 or 5 hours if you can help it when they are under 9 months..by one year they should be able to hold it up to 8 hours or so...
    Hang in there~
