Thread: Freckles is at the vet =)

Freckles is at the vet =)

We had to reschedule our appointment for yesterday. I took her in yesterday at 2 for her exam and she stayed the night. I called this morning and they had just given her the injection, so she is sedated and was the first scheduled. So she is most likely undergoing surgery right now. =) I hope she does well. It cost me around $300 dollars for this! I took some pictures of her at the vet. I'll update more once I call the clinic to see how the surgery went.

Wow, are you having pre-surgical bloodwork done too or something?
That seems like $100 too much. I can't believe they are keeping her for a few days either. I could see 2 at the max (the day of the spay & the day after) but anything more would worry me.

I'm sure she'll be fine. I don't mean to scare you or be rude. Sorry.

I don't know how $300 equates into £s, but it costs £115 to have a bitch spayed where I work and they have the operation in the morning and then released home later that day!!

Yes, blood work. Plus pain meds. Well she stayed the night last night, and will again tonight and I can pick her up tomorrow. So she'll be there for 2 and a half days. =( I know it sounds weird. I told them the experience I have working at clinics, and that I am fully capable of taking care of my own dog after her surgery, but they wouldn't buy it.

This place was actually the cheapest place around here. Most places wanted at least $200 for the spay alone.

Wow that's expensive. Baby is a huge great dane and she was twice the size of Freckles when she was spayed. Her spay cost $260 and she was free to go the same day.

Well I didn't get ahold of the clinic yesterday. They called me right now though and said she really really wants to come home. So I know she's whining and crying and doesn't want to be there. We're on our way to pick her up. =)
