    Pee Pee..at the vet all day!

    Poor Pee Pee!! When we got home last night we found she had peed all over David's side of the bed! (I SWEAR I didn't tell her to do that!! )

    We were doing laundry as a result and I caught her peeing on a pile of clothes too. BIG puddles, so I'm not 100% certain this is a health issue.

    I took her to her vet at lunch and she'll be escorted home by her fabulous vet tonight. She's having a urinalysis done to make sure she's OK.

    I also noticed she has the beginnings of kitty acne too. I think we'll be buying a new cat tree soon...of all things to cause kitty acne!!

    Poor thing, she's always so fearful of the port-o-prision and the car. She was all huddled in the side of the carrier on the way there.

    I'll let you know what Dr. Hanser (Susie) says when she's brings Phoebe home.

    Can an old scratching post really cause kitty acne?

    Normally, I don't think so. But Sami and Pee Pee rest thier chins on the tree so that's the only thing I can think of. They only use ceramic bowls that I wash daily, so I don't know of anything that could cause it.

    The tree they rest on is the one we bought two years ago...I get with that many cats, they do get old quicker, huh?

    Kelly it's good to see you taking the wet bed with such good humor! I've been down that road several times and it is not pleasant. Of course we usually find ours right as we are ready to go to bed so we are tired and now have to change sheets and bedding. That has a tendancy to really make me angry! I never have found out who our culprit was so I didn't know who to be mad at so I just had to suck it up and get over it.
    Thank goodness that hasn't happend in months now!

    I hope Phoebe is ok. Keep us posted.

    I hope poor PeePee gets a clean bill of health and that she doesn't wet your bed again. I know that it is a pain in the butt. One of my diabetic cats, Jade< when she was first diagnosed and for awhile after that she would pee all over my bed all the time! Every once in awhile she still will. thank god I had a plastic mattress cover on the mattress or it would have been ruined.

    Has anything happened in your living conditions that could have upset her? Stress will sometimes cause them to do that too..

    Actually, stainless steel (I recently read) is the best type to use. Ceramic is porous and therefore can hold germs as well! Of course I found this out after buying 8 to 10 new porcelain bowls!!!

    I think ceramic is only porous if it is unglazed Kim so you should be fine using ceramic ones if you stick them in the dishwasher to sterilise them .

    Kelly, I'm so sorry to hear that Phoebe is having pee problems. I hope that her urinalysis comes back normal. Please keep us updated.

    I use stainless steel bowls for both food and water but Sunny still has kitty acne. If you really think it's the cat tree, then maybe you and David can buy one at the cat show this weekend. They ususally have great prices at the shows.

    Phoebe is home and happy to be here. She was a really good girl at the vet, even though she hid under her fleece blankie the entire time.

    Her results come back tomorrow, so I'll let you all know what shows up then.

    The bowls are all different types of ceramic. Some are made to be cat bowls, others are dipping bowls used in Asian cuisine (thank you, Cost Plus....sooooo cute!!), so they are used to being washed in a HOT dishwasher each day.

    I really think its that cat tree. Trac, I'll be on the look out for trees at the show. The only problem is getting it back home in our Honda Civic.

    Dr. Hanser brought by some oinment to use on thier chins to help. I know she doesn't recommend the Aveda, but its really clearing Sami's chin up nicely...and his hair almost grown back...that was FAST!!!

    Poor Pee Pee- at the moment I have a lot of compassion for anyone who has to deal with that. Knowing that my Filou is the "behavioral" guy I know how difficult it is to get them in a situation to feel safe and independent enough not to pee in in appropriate places.

    Kisses for her and Samson- hope their kitty acne goes soon.
