    Wally has company now!!!

I am so excited!! After finding the trap sprung and empty, we reset and waited.. We found out, some employess at Wal-Mart had seen us "fooling around" by the containers and went to see what we were doing after we walked away. They accidently sprung the trap and couldn't figure out how to reset it.. So, we reset and waited from afar.. We got another tabby baby, this one we will call "Marty". Marty is a lot smaller than Wally and seemed to be more upset than Wally was but calmed right down when he realized the truck was warm and he was comfortable there. He took some coaxing to get into the cage when we got him back to Mikes house but he really seemed happy to see a familiar face in the cage.. From the cuddeling that happened right away, we figure they are litter mates and maybe Marty is the "runt" of the litter. Without further ado, here they are... Wally and Marty..

(Mike had to hold a flashlight so I could see in the cage to take the pictures, that is the reason why Marty's eye looks so funny in one of the pic's.)

I am just so happy that Wally now has company and is no longer alone! Marty's face is just as cute as Wally's. (Can't help but be reminded of Lucky and Louie when I see these two cuddeling)

Oh, well done! I so don't have the patience or time to trap so really admire people who do!

Oh what handsome brown tabbies Laura! Catgratulations, and now it's just mama to get right? Oh, and the fluffy one maybe? Can't wait to see pics of the Siamese when you trap her. Gotta get them into a room, and start socializing them pronto! Do you have a room where you can fit the cage into?

That cage we had them in outside it to big to fit in my house but Mike had a big kennel he is letting me use and I have them in my spare room (sewing room) right now. Marty is more afraid and wilder than Wally but Wally had time to settle down and settle in to his new life before we messed with him any.. Marty is new to all this but I think he will settle down once he realizes that "Hay, we got PLENTY of food and it is WARM here!"...

I found out this morning that there is a orginazation that has funds to fix feral cats close to us and have sent them a email... Also found out we can buy the distemper meds ourself at the local feed and seed store so soon as I can get some, they will have that. I also found out we can give them all shots except rabies.. Soon as I hear from the orginazation for ferals, we will be in business!!! I have NO qualms in giving shots, use to do it all the time when I was married and hubby had his ton of hunting dogs... even gave a horse a shot once but refused to do that again, skin is to tough... I WISH I had a job where I could STAY HOME!!!

Great news Laura! I'm sure Marty will chill out soon. Glad you know how to give shots, it does make everything a lot cheaper in the end. They should be boostered in 3-4 weeks to develop full immunity. Will there be room for mama cat, and where will all these kitties go when you go back to work? Mikes?

Yea, Mike will be the person in charge when I go back to work and I will give him ALL the contact numbers I have so he can continue on while I am gone.. Hopefully, he will have lots of stories to tell me when I call him from the boat. I will have to see if he is sqimish about giving shots though... We never discussed HIM doing that.. I bet you will hear from him while I am gone.. I need to get him set up here on PT before I leave so he can post questions and get the help you all have given me.. He has a digital camera but never has figured out how it works or installed the program on his computer... he didn't even realize he had to do that.

I think we will have to keep Mama in the outside cage until she has plenty of time to settle down before bringing her inside.. Don't want her to upset the babies to much and she is big enough to do some real damage inside if she don't settle right down...

I petted BOTH awhile ago.. I didn't pick them up or even try, want to get them use to being touched first. But they didn't panic or go crazy when I petted them.. PROGRESS, one small step at a time...
They are soooooo soft.. I just want to pick them up and ((((HUG)))) them, assure them they will be alright and kiss, kiss, kiss them...

That's great that you were able to pat them Laura! And no hissing is an excellent sign too. Sure hope you can get their lovely sounding mama soon. Maybe Mike could put her up in his place? Give the babies some pats for me!

Pat the babies for me too Laura! And while you're patten' them, make kissy noises and baby talk and make like you're gonna pick them up to get them used to the feel of the hand all over them, under the belly etc! You are doing great! What a project huh? Keep us posted on mama and the Quik Mart cats too! (ps, no harm in trying to pick them up, you may be surprised, just be careful!)

We didn't try to trap tonight but put food IN the trap and it was all eaten. We didn't catch sight of any of them tonight. I had Mike come over to pet them too and he was surprised at how much softer Martys fur was than Wally's. They sure are a pretty pair.

Ok Laura! Now that they are used to petting, lean in there and give them some kisses for me! Don't forget to wear a ski mask to protect your face! Or at minimum, safety goggles on your eyes!! Kisses to the babies! I'll bet they'd like some rare roast beef or deli turkey or cooked chicken right out of your hand! (good foods to use for trapping too!!) keep up with the uppy-dates!
