Found an old poem I wrote..

I wrote this my freshman year in college when I was going through a lot of depression and difficult times. I had forgotten about it until earlier when I found a folder with some old poems I had written and it was in there. I just had a sudden urge to share it here... so here it is.

    Sometimes

    Sometimes we lose focus-
    lose our direction-
    lose our sense of perception.

    Sometimes our world is black-
    our sun is eclipsed-
    our air hard to breathe.

    Sometimes we are afraid-
    of the truth-
    of lies-
    of both.

    Sometimes we decide to hide-
    from friends-
    from strangers-
    from ourselves.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do-
is reach for the hand that cares-
to hold it without crushing it-
and to let go when we need to walk on our own.

    And sometimes-
we find the strength to go on-
    to love and be loved-
and to believe again in ourselves.

    ----

My hope is for everyone to feel confidence and belief in themselves, especially during these sometimes stressful holiday and winter days, because that is where I think peace lies. Happy Holidays to all, may true joy and inner peace find each and every one of you.

That was a great poem, and it had a wonderful meaning. Merry Christmas to you too, dear Jessica!

Jessica: that is sooo beautiful. Would you mind if I printed it off and and put it up on my wall at work??
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Slick, I'd be honored. Thanks for the compliments. I always felt like God was speaking to me through my writing that day because the words just came without even thinking. It makes me feel so good that the words are meaningful to others too
