Okay, so here's my situation. Every year, it's been a tradition with a friend of ours (and her son, 2 dogs, many cats, and whatever other animals she might have) to go over to her house and deep fry Wontons as our supper, along with some other foods. Then exchange gifts for eachother. In the past, my family makes about 100 - all the same recipe. Jan, our friend, makes 100 - 50 of one recipe, and 50 of the other. If I'm not mistaken, all three recipes have meat in them.
My dad doesn't want to leave me out (he's been really supportive of me since I've become a vegetarian) on the dinner and fun night with them, so he wants to make sure I have a vegetarian wonton at the house ready to deep fry. However, I can't find any *good* recipes for them. They can't contain meat, as I do not eat meat, and and they cannot contain yellow cheese, as I am allergic to yellow cheese. White cheeses are fine, just yellow.![]()
So my question for you guys.. because I know there are some fabulous cooks here, do you know of any good recipes for Wontons? I've looked and looked... I guess they're just not that popular.
Thanks for any responses I may get!
