    Any good Wonton recipes?

Okay, so here's my situation. Every year, it's been a tradition with a friend of ours (and her son, 2 dogs, many cats, and whatever other animals she might have) to go over to her house and deep fry Wontons as our supper, along with some other foods. Then exchange gifts for eachother. In the past, my family makes about 100 - all the same recipe. Jan, our friend, makes 100 - 50 of one recipe, and 50 of the other. If I'm not mistaken, all three recipes have meat in them.

My dad doesn't want to leave me out (he's been really supportive of me since I've become a vegetarian) on the dinner and fun night with them, so he wants to make sure I have a vegetarian wonton at the house ready to deep fry. However, I can't find any *good* recipes for them. They can't contain meat, as I do not eat meat, and and they cannot contain yellow cheese, as I am allergic to yellow cheese. White cheeses are fine, just yellow.

So my question for you guys.. because I know there are some fabulous cooks here, do you know of any good recipes for Wontons? I've looked and looked... I guess they're just not that popular.

Thanks for any responses I may get!

Don't have any wonton recipes, but i bet doing a crab rangoon without the crab would work!

Take one pack of cream cheese, some green onion, and some finely chopped ginger, and half a teaspoon of soy sauce, mix it up really good, put it on a wonton wrapper and fold it up, then fry it. And for those that like the crab, just add a can of tinned crab to the mix before spooning it onto the wonton wrapper. Good stuff!

I don't have a recipe, but I just had to jump in and say I LOVE CRAB WONTONS! It's been my thing since I've been pregnant. I order the appetizer, which comes with 8 crab and cream cheese filled wontons and no one gets any. I eat them all to myself.

    Thank you Wolfie!
