    Shirley's South Side Cousins....

    ....were awfully hungry!

Forget Tubby and check out the pumpkin in this pic. What a nice pumpkin. Nice and round, nice color, what a pretty pumpkin.

    Wee-eeelll.....

Look what I came home to find....

    .....

    ......

    .....

    ......

    ......

And this was no flimsy pumpkin, whoever did this obviously had to work at it for quite awhile. First of all to break through, then to make the hole big enough for a good size squirrel body.

Wish I had a video camera on the front porch to see when the body was all the way in and all you could see was a squirrel butt up in the air.

However, the only one hurt by this will be Terry. I always bake the pumpkin seeds for him. I hadn't had a chance to get to it yet this year and I guess I waited just one day too long. I was able to salvage a few seeds - enough to still make it worth while to bake them - but not near as many as I should have gotten out of such a nice healthy pumpkin. And the squirrel should still be happy because I put the rest of the pumpkin back outside for him/her.

Now that was a FUNNY picture story, all that was missing was a shot of the squirrel! It had to have taken awhile to get a hole that big in there too... That is really funny! SQUIRRELS RULE!

OMG! I'm cracking up!! Poor Terry, he'll have to buy store bought seeds now! I needed this laugh today!

Awww, Gary, that's such a sweet thought, thank you!

Another thing I noticed as I was cleaning the seeds before baking them is that evidently the squirrels only like the nice sweet meat inside the seed and not the hull. More than half the seeds were cracked open and had the meats gone! That squirrel must have been there all day!

I would have guessed a raccoon by seeing the first pictures, but the culprit's been indentified I see! LOL! "Shirley" had a good time feasting!

    Speaking of squirrels.....

The other day when I got back from the vet with Tubby, we were walking back to the front door from the car. Tubby was taking his own sweet time checking everything out when out of the blue these two squirrels come tearing around the corner - one chasing the other - and practically ran right under Tubby's nose and off to the other side of the street. I quickly looked at him to see what his reaction was and......he didn't even notice them.
