You got it! Laid 3 new eggs this week!!!! I removed one and she's sitting on two. I'll get them out in the next day or so. *sigh*

Here's Bennie (girl????) tonight. Not a very good picture and she/he was quite sleepy. I think that Bennie probably really is a girl. Her cheeks are much more subdued than Roger's are. Otherwise, they could be twins.

NO MORE BABIES!!!! I still have one from that first clutch, which I never intended to have happen!!! Keep on waiting for Aly to call me and say she's on her way!!!! LOL!!!

I'm a breeder of American budgies (hopefully, I'll move on to the elusive English budgies). If I were you, and I didn't want my hen to egg-bind, I sure as heck would leave the eggs in there. Taking away eggs just encourages her to produce more eggs, and it taxes on her calcium and really poops the hen out (no pun intended). Seeing that you don't want chicks, you can addle the eggs. It's rather controversial, however, because some bird fanciers think of addling as "birdie abortion". *shrugs* I don't see it that way, but you might think differently.

Anyhow, my breeder [person, not bird] has a few older pairs that have bonded and she cannot separate them. To discourage egg-laying, she covers the cage for 14 hours and allows minimal sunshine. Just enough so that the birds get their Vit D and all, but not enough to encourage breeding. She also houses them in fairly quiet areas during breeding season. Something to keep in mind...

Ohhhhh Milly!!!!!!! No more babies for you! She looks adorable in that picture Logan, and Bennie is just precious. Is Bennie vocal? That could also be a major sign on whether s/he is a male or female.

Dawn just finally lost interest in her eggs. At least with her there is no chance of them being fertile . I just let her sit on them until she loses interest. Here's a pic of a couple of her eggs from her last clutch. I took them out to change her floor. After I was done and put them back, she settled right back down to sit on them.

i've always wanted to have a clutch of baby tiels! i got the male,just not the female.

Be happy, Lute!!!! Our male is quite outgoing with us, but he is not as friendly as he was before he discovered his female companion. I'm glad I got Milly and have been able to give her a much more comfortable life than she had before, but I miss Roger's antics that he did more often before there were babies.

I admit I don't know much about raising birds, but I never knew the females were so...fertile Glad to hear they'll be no more babies though, Logan. I think you've got your paws full already Milly you're such a pretty girl!
