Degu pics! Meet my baby boy Peanut :)

I have a new friend. His name is Peanut and he is a baby degu, 9 weeks old. He is such a cutie. A little shy but the tamest baby I've ever had. He was raised at the local pet shop, which is why I got him as I knew he would be social. So I thought I would share a few pics of my little guy. Enjoy!

He is so cute! He looks like a little peanut!

Cass, it is so good to see you back! I have been thinking about you so much lately. Just wondering if you were doing okay! God, little girl, its good to hear from you and see your new pet, Peanut. Don't know much about a Degu, but maybe you can educate me on them!

Again so good to see you again!

    Hugz,
    Willie

Thank You, kittycats_delight for my new siggy!!!

Hi mommy! :-D Geez, I've missed you too! I did need a break though. Life has just been so hectic and confusing lately.

I have so more photos of Peanut but I am not at home right now, so I will have to post them later. I also have new pics of Freckles. She is getting HUGE!!! She is going to be 8 months here pretty soon. I'll have to post some pics of her later. I am finally picking her up from foster care this weekend. I am so happy to have my little girl back with me!

As far as Peanut, well he is a rodent, related to chinchillas. They sound much like a guinea pig when they get excited. He's only "chatted" with me once so far though. I'm still working on getting him completely hand tamed. They take dust baths like chins do too, and cannot have sugar as their body cannot matabolize it.

I had never even heard of a Degu! So I just can't wait to see more pictures. They sound very interesting though. I hope you have pictures of Freckles too!

Well I have one new one but her face isn't showing. It will show you how big she's gotten though.

    See how big she's getting?!

Here is my friend being mean to her. Nah, he was just playing.

Here is the dog that lives with her at the foster home. His name is Jaime.

And this is one of their kitty cats

He is so small and cute.
I think Peanut is a very fitting name.

I saw these in a pet store here a few months ago and fell in love with them! I had never heard of them before. I had a small thought that I might get one until I saw their price. Congrats! Very cute.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Thanks! Yep they do cost a little more than your average rodents but that's because they are exotics and need more specialized care than say, rats or gerbils.

I'll have more pics of him and Freckles up either later today or tomorrow.
