    Your First Cat

What was your first cats name? Color? What was he/she like? How did you get him/her? Post a pic??

My first cat was a beautiful orange (almost cream) & white short haired male. His name was "Perkins". I got Perkins when I was 8 years old from a friend whose cat had kittens. He was my first pet other than just my goldfish and he was my best friend. He was very particular about he liked, the only people that he really loved were my Mom and I. Everytime we had people over he'd growl, hiss or swat at their ankles! What a goof! He was sent to the Rainbow Bridge on March 19, 2004 at the age of 8 due to heart problems, he was almost 9.

Here's a few pics of him.

    (The day I got him)

    Aww Perkins was beautiful!

My first kitty was when I turned 7. It was one of my birthday presents. Me and mom searched in the local free kitten newspaper ads and noone had any left. Weeks went by, and FINALLY we found one. She was a little calico baby about 16 weeks old. I was so smitten over her. I named her Matilda. She was so very sweet. We took her to the vet, and found out she had medical problems and also ringworm. We tried to treat the ringworm, but because of her problems she could not be fixed. I had her almost a year, when she went to the RB. I was so upset. But their was nothing the doctor could do for her, and I would not let my mom put her down.
She loved attention and sleeping in bed with me. She was very sweet and I loved her so much.
Manda moo, what a great thread to start I have some pictures of her, but I will have to wait until morning to search for them

    Thank you so much Michelle!

    I've been BOO'd!!! Thanks Lori!

Cardamom was my first cat. Here's the page I made for her:

    http://home.earthlink.net/~mightymezzo/cardamom.htm

Don Juan has shared my home (oh, I'm sorry, he shares HIS home with me) for three and a half years, but Cardamom is still with me. Her cremains are interred in my herb planter.

My first cat was Sugar Baby. I got her when I was in the 4th grade from my piano teacher. (A stray had kittens in their tool shed.) Sugar was a dilute calico, but was mostly white. She was a sweetheart and a dearly loved cat.

I don't recal my VERY first cat , but the first cat I had as an adult (with my husband) was named BrightEyes. Female, DSH, white with a tabby striped tail, and a dark marking on the top of her head that looked like a deer hoof print. And a dusty colored marking right around her nose that looked like what happened when the "deer stepped on her head and pushed her nose into the mud".
She was shy with other people. Visitors rarely saw that she even existed.
She loved to play fetch and sleep on my head.

Mina is my first cat. I'm 25 yro. She turned 8 weeks on the 13th of October. A friend of mine had kittens and was giving them to a good home. Well I got clarence from my landlord to get her because I have medical problems, and Mina helps keep me from getting stressed too much. (as well as getting my homework done.) This picture is a little old, but its the only one I have that I can post right now.

    My first Kitty,was beautiful Pouncer,who I adopted from a rather shabby Pet Store! There were three Kittens,a Gray,an Orange,and Pouncer! The Others were adopted,and then Pouncer,a Siamese Tortie Mix,was all alone,and I had,to take her home,and she was a dear Cat,that went too soon,at the age,of nine,from Heart Problems!I still think,of her,as I have a plaque,with my favorite photos,of her ,to remind me!

The first cat ever, in my life, was my parent's cat - Sherman. He began as the family cat because both my brother and I were still living at home, but since then we've both moved out, so he's my parent's cat now.

The first ever cats I've *owned*, I just got two days ago - Kirin and Sushi.

My first cat was named Tiny. He was a black and white moo cat. I slept with hm in my crib. He was my best friend and I loved him dearly. He had a stroke and fell down the steps Dec 26, 1981. We went to the emergency vet (unheard of back then) and he recommended Tiny be put to sleep.

A few days later we got a red and white version of Tiny and named him (what else?) Tiny. He was a scardy cat his whole like, but loved to pieces by my grandmom. My mom remarried when Tiny was a kitten and my stepdad HATES cats - so Tiny stayed with my Granndmom til he was 18 whne hewent to the RB.

I don't have any pictures of black and white Tiny, but I do of red and white Tiny... since Photobucket doesn't seem to be working (again) I'll have to post the photo later.

My first cat was many years ago when I was a child. My father brought home a black and white girl who was hanging around his work place. That was it for me - I was hooked on cats.

I think the first kitty we had was named Tippy (that I remember), and that was when I was very small. We had him for years and we had to move from where we lived because of "modernazation", he went with us but refused to stay, kept going back to the old place even though it was tore down.. That was many, many, many years ago!! Then we had another one later that was names "Pretty" because she was so pretty... Gee, there has been so many in my life, from childhood on up to now....

My first cat was 4 actually. My family cat sat a momma cat and her 4 kittens back in 1991. We fell in love with the kittens and ended up adopting them all. Gizzy, Smokey, Wendy, and Tigger. My dad still has Wendy but the rest of all gone to their final resting place. They were great cats, each had a different personality.
