    ok, i can help you

    x-2y=4
    +2y+2y add 2y so you get the variable on 1 side and # on other
    3y=4
    /3 /3 now, since 3y is multiplying, divide 3

    y=4/3

    im really good at algebra so just private message me anytime

    If your looking for the X intercept, Always make the Y to a zero..

    So the problem should look like this.

    X- 2*0=4

    2*0=0

    x-0=4

    add zero to 4 which makes

    x=4

    the intercept would be 4,0

    okay I am pretty sure I am right, but If I am not please don't get mad!

    if you need anymore help you can e-mail me at [email protected] or come back on here.

    Doesn't adding +2y to both sides of:
    x-2y=4 give you

    x=4+2y and not 3y=4 ????

    Oops, never mind, the conversation continued as I was staring at the problem...

    Yes, when finding the X-intercept, you make y=0.

    So:

    x - 2y = 4

    x - 2(0) = 4

    (2 x 0 = 0)

    So then,:

    x = 4

    Put the point (4,0) on your graph, and that is the x-intercept. Trust me! I am in Algebra II and we just went over this. If you ever need help you can talk to me too!

    (PS: To find the Y-intercept, do the same, except make X = 0.)

    I love math.

    Your response of 4,0 looks right to me, but my algebra days were YEARS ago...

    yea but were trying to get y, not 3y, so you get rid of 3, since its multiplication, you divide it to get rid of it

    3y=4
    /3 /3 and the answer is y=4/3

    My point is that you DON'T get 3y=4 that way. You still have an x to deal with, too.
