Usually they have hair loss, are inactive, not eating regularly, reluctant to being picked up and discharge in eye, mouth and ear area. These are most signs for small pets, but I don't know much about mice.

Does she wear dresses and drink tea (Kidding! I've had fancy mice before and now I have facy rats.)

Discharge from the eyes and them being sluggish are some pretty good signs that they are sick.

Normally you can just tell, it's hard to explain, but when a pet isn't feeling well, you cna just feel it.
