2 are better than 1 or double your trouble??!!

I have been very busy this past summer. Where did it go? I received a kitten from Finland and sent one to Finland. What a learning experience that was. I had long hours at work and shows with the cats. Then I had a litter of kittens born on Aug. 27th. A litter of 4 and then on September 12th another litter of 4. So they are about 2 weeks apart. The first litter's parents are "Q" a brown classic tabby and white and Charlie a silver classic tabby and white.

And this is Smokey Jo a black smoke and white and Charlie is the dad also.

Moms and kittens are doing great and Dad (Charlie) is clueless on what is going on. He has his eye on another female right now.

Tiny Paws (!?!) ready to walk in and on your heart. They will dig a hole and plant themselves there and grow like weeds wrapping themselves around your heart and soul.

They do get lots of kisses and rubs and alot of handling every time I go into see them. This helps to make the people friendly and they are use to being handled by the time they are ready to leave here. I play with toes and get them use to have the toes played with so nail clipping will be easier. I start to use a comb and a very soft brush on them when they are about 3 - 4 weeks old. Yes I comb the tummies also and the inside of the legs and the britches, it is something you have to do when you have long haired cats. And these being Maine Coons if you don't get them use to it now it will be hard later and the bigger they get the harder it becomes. I also give them their first bath between 10 and 12 weeks old. I put alot of love and work into these kittens because I want them to behave when their new parents come to get them. And I have one now that has had alot of medical problems and I didn't push the grooming and now he has to be shaved. But at least I still have him here to spoil and he is very spoiled. Here are some pictures of Smokey with Q's kittens I took today.

I have found that like most cats and kittens if they are introduced properly there is little trouble. Especailly where a kitten is concerned. So I would put a kitten with a New Found Cat together. As long as the New Found Cat has been tested and has a clean bill of health from the vet. The kitten will quickly learn who is top cat. I have placed kittens with Chesapeake Bay Retrievers (sp) and other large dogs. Unless the New Found Cat needed to be an only cat because of a behavior problem it would work out.
Well have to go and check on them will take pictures and post them tonight or tomorrow.
