    Update on found white kitty!

I found a kitty a few weeks ago, and I talked about her in another thread. I have good news and bad news. I found a loving home for her with a nice older lady with 2 daughters to love on her. I named her Sugar. Anyways I made plans to give her to the lady on Friday the 24th. But today I felt her belly because she looked to be "plumping" up. I am pretty sure she is pregnant, I got out my stethascope and did hear faint heartbeats, her nips are erected and I am just almost certain she is. I called the lady back and told her my concern, and now she does not want the kitty But that is ok seeing as I can keep her until she has them, I just have to find them all new homes when they get older. I am excited but my concerns are should I leave her in the garage until she has them, or cage her closer till time to have them? There is too many things for new babies to get into, and I feel it is cruelty to leave her in a garage all day, even though I take her outside in the yard a few times a day. What should I do ? I am taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her checked over and her fiv/fip testing (my mom is going to cover her bill). Then do you think it is a good idea to maybe find her a room in the house to stay in or should I still keep her seperate in the garage? I am so confused! any advice would be so helpful. Thanks for listening! pics included (she isn't a good picture taker) and neither am I !

    What a lovely cat!

Is your garage heated, or is there a warm corner? You could fill a box or crate with old blankets, and have her food and water near there, to encourage nesting. Momcats usually nest where THEY want to, but sometimes will use a ready made one.

Good luck! That's going to be a late litter; as such will be easy to place since kittens are scarce in the late fall and winter.

I'm not sure about leaving her in the garage. If you have a room you could put her in, I think that would be so much better for her and the kittens. Hopefully some of the others who are more experienced with kittens will chime in and give you better advice. She's so pretty, and I'm sure her kittens are going to be adorable!

Did the lady say she would take Sugar once the kittens are weaned and on their own?

Thanks for taking her in and taking care of her when she needs you most.

    Thank you!

Thank you both for your replies. The vet would not take her today, so on Monday she has an appointment.

Yes the garage is heated/cooled for her, I am just not sure yet. If she tests Negative, she will probably be able to come inside the house. The lady said she could not wait that long to get her, so she won't be taking her. (oh well- her loss seeing as Sugar is the sweetest lovebird ever!) Again thank you for the replies! Have a good day.

IT ACTUALLY MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF SHE IS IN A ROOM IN THE HOUSE OR IN THE GARAGE. FIV IS BLOOD TRANSMITTED. FELV IS SALIVA AND BLOOD. AS LONG AS THERE IS A DOOR. IT IS OF NO DIFFERENCE!
