well huskies have to be socialized with other dogs and humans early. also train them as soon as possible and let them know whos boss early on; to avoid problems. training is REALLY essential because do you really want a dog that is strong enough to pull cargo sleds to pull you like that when you walk them?!? its not fun, let me tell you that from experience! but they are wonderful dogs and very playful/hyper. also very smart and loyal to whoever is considered their family.

Being a cross/ mix breed dog, she could be nothing like her Husky/ Heeler relatives or she could be very much like them.

Heelers (Aka, Aussie Cattle Dog, Queensland Heeler) were bred to herd cattle, they are more pushy than your Border Collies, Kelpies etc and were bred to nip at the ankles of the cattle. They are great dogs very sweet (My Clover is half Heeler).

I dont realy know much about Huskys but alot of people here do and hopefully will give you some more information.

    *edited to add

Both Husky and Heeler coats are quite thick and need a regular brushing to keep them in good shape.

    cockerluvr and clovrfdx...

Rose is a dog that was abused horribly and was neglected to the point where she was all but dead,,, We figure she is less then the previous 7 yrs old then thought,, but more like 3 or 4...
Talking in greater detail with her foster mom,, Rose is very friendly, but obviously possesive of her food having been almost starved to death and all in the past,, but with work and trust,, we think she will get past that,,, In my house,, I have to be able to be able to put my face in my dogs while they eat food or treats and not be the least bit nervous.... thats just good managemnet,,, if thats a good description.... gotta be able to have trust in both human and doggie!!

We are looking forward to meeting her very much.... here is another pic of her at the shelter when she was being held for evidence aginst her previous owners.... she is looking better now tho....She used to be called RED DOG by the shelter.

She is gorgoeus! I don't have alot of info on either breed but I do know that each require quite a bit of grooming and Huskies are very active dogs.

I just spoke in length to roses foster mom and rose is pretty laid back,,, likes to play but isnt hyper at all,,, she is half blind too,, so maybe that holds her up a bit,,,, for the most part,,, laid back... I was relieved to hear that as we arent a go get em active bionic kind of family!! We will have several visits and a few overnighters if the initial meeting between the dogs goes well,,, Wanna be sure and all.....

Rose is a beauty! Oh, I'm so glad you are going to be taking care of her. She is so pretty and I just love her color and name. Tori's middle name is Rose

I honestly couldn't tell you a whole lot about Huskies as I am learning as I go.

Best of Luck and I hope we get to see lots more of Rose.

I am trying to think of a new name for her if we get her,, she was never given a name her whole life and she has only had the name Rose for about a month,,, so its easily changed,,, she isnt used to hearing ROSE yet....

I was wracking my brains and came up with a few,, but am leaning towards Miracle,,, but would call her Miri for short. *pronounced meerie*

I think Miracle would be perfect, very sweet.

Well no matter her name if you get to bring her home she is going to be very loved! She is beautiful!

Now as for huskies, it's probably very different with her and her age/situation but here are a couple of links to some very informative husky sites.

Hope these links can help you out.

I'm sure if you bring her home she will make you love huskys!

thank you for the sites,, they are very informative,, I have been taking the traits of both breeds and combining them,,, she will be fun... but her foster mommy says she is very laid back and is pretty calm.. except when she plays,,, she loves to play....
