    Computer question - help ASAP!

    I downloaded something from Adobe for my husband's term paper and he wants to use only partof it... he wants to delete some of it. We tried copying and pasting and it made a HUGE mess! Is there a way to just cut the info from the adobe file so we don;t have ten tiems extra work? Or perhaps something we can do to save it as something other than a pdf file? We have to get tis done and in the mail within an hour! YIKES!

    I'm sorry but I don't have much experience working with PDF files. Usually I just download them and use them as-is. I hope somebody responds soon for you!

    If you have Illustrator, you can open it there and copy what you need.

    Good luck!

    You can also send it to us and we can do it in 3 min. Will PM our mail address.

    This sorta "depends" upon just HOW the
    original .pdf file was "created"...

    On the .pdf file Viewing Window -
    there should be a Tool-Bar at the top -

    Look for and *CLICK* on the large
    Capital "T" witha lil dotted box beside it.

    That Tool allows you to Left-Click (HOLD the mouse button down)
    and SCROLL OVER whatever you want to "copy".
    RELEASE the left mouse button when you have what you WANT "highlighted".

    Now open your Word Processor program and "PASTE" everything you
    have "copied" from the .pdf file window.

    It Will NOT copy "graphics" - only "words".

    And IF there are several columns on the original page;
    depending upon HOW the original was created;
    you MAY get ALL the Columns across the page .

    Dunno how to NOT copy ALL the columns at once if that happens -
    but SOME documents copy off just fine, ONE column at a time.

    Thanks! I was able to copy the test oik, but what we needed were also some maps and charts. When I copied and paste the text, lets just say it made a formatting mess where spaces existed where they shouldn't have, etc. We actually ended up using white-out to cover up the info that wasn't relevant and running to get photocopies of it. Yeah, low tech works everytime!
