    Dashund very strange behaviour

Our yorkshire terrier (Belle) died a couple of months ago and we recently got a miniature dachsund named Daisy. We've had her about 3 weeks so far and she's a really good dog and gets along great with the cats (that's was what surprised me the most). The other day I gave her a bath because mom spilled some ice cream on her when she was sitting with her and she got sticky. Since then she's acting real strange. She's whining all the time and keeps going under my bed and tries to shred up an old fluffy bathrobe I have under there in a roll out cart. When she does come out from under the bed I put her in my lap & she constantly licks on my arm and then runs away back under the bed. Her belly is kind of warm to the touch. She constantly acts like she's trying to run from something, but she doesn't have fleas cause I have frontline flea & tick on the dog and the 3 cats. She's not been left alone for longer than a 2 hr period. When she goes outside she's not left unattended so she hasn't been around any other dogs. She was around dogs before we got her though. Now I'm wondering if she might be pregnant. Are there some signs to look for other than weight gain. The lady we got her from, got Daisy from her brother out of state and he can't find her vet records(she's had 5 owners so far). No one can locate her vet records but they told me she had been fixed and had her rabies shots, now I'm not so sure about it.

Does anyone here have any ideas on what could be the problem.
Thanks very much for any replies.

Well look carefully at her tummy,,,, if shes spayed there will be a small line.. it should be light in colour....

Are there any spots, redness obvious sore spots on her anywhere you can find?

what kind of shampoo did you use? did you rinse her off throughly? if it continues,, of course,, take her to the vets for a check up...

    Keep us posted!!!!

I don't think she's pregnant, when my mini dachshund was pregnant she acted pretty normal. did she drink some water out of the bath tub? if she did she might have swallowed some shampoo and it might be making her sick.

Lorraine and Jesse, thanks so much for your replies.
This enquiry was for a friend and I haven't heard any more news from her. If she hasn't got things figured out I'll be back for more help.
    Thanks again,

Maybe she's afraid of something, or has she ever acted strange after you've given her a bath before this? Maybe she did swallow some water, soap or shampoo although when I give my dog a bath - a Golden Retriever named Buddy (DOTD yesterday) and he swallows water he doesn't get sick. He might have kind of bad poo that's all. I'm not a daschound expert but my best suggestion would be to take her to the vet, and next time you purchase a dog make sure you get the vet records. I hope everything works out. Keep me posted, by posting here or pm me, k? Sending hugs and kisses to your daschound.
