It is not very often that I invoke the power of the PT prayer line, but I really need it now. One of the foster cats (Bigodinho) is having serious problems. The last time I had him was during May and part of June. At that time he lost alot of weight so I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with a UTI. We had a complete workup (including blood panel) and we were sent home with Clavamox. I had him for a week while trying to give him the medicine (which didn't always go down very well). Then his "grandma" (the soldier's mother) came back into the US and she took him back. I told her to finish the medicine and take him back for a urinalysis when he was done. She said that she did that and he was fine.
But it seems that he crashed this past week. He lost even more weight and she took him to another vet who put re-hydrated him and put him on floxacillin for a UTI. But he has gotten worse and he is no longer eating or drinking. She was forcing some water down him on the weekend.
Right now he is at the vet's office on IV antibiotics, but the vet doesn't know what the problem is. His lab work indicates that he has an elevated bilirubin level (from his liver), but that could be related to the fact he hasn't eaten in quite awhile.
We weren't sure that he was going to survive the weekend, but he did and is now staying at the vet's office. Could I please ask for a few prayers for him so he gets better and can go home?
