I have heard that black, grey and white cats are much more susceptilbe to sun damage on their ears because of the suns attraction to their coloring.
My Tucker is about to loose her ear tips. They have turned to leather (well, kind of like that). They have no more fur on them...burned off by the sun. My vet says that she is still doing OK but probally by next year her ears will need to be "Tipped".
Oh my, I knew fair skinned cats and dogs could get sunburned but after seeing that picture of that poor cat I didn't realize it could be that bad.
Poor Tucker.![]()
I'm glad my cats are all indoor kitties. I'd worry more about Disney but she isn't out that much and she has all that fur. Her nose is black too.
