For 'Angel' fans: Illyria costume - work in progress *pictures*

I love Illyria's outfit and thanks to my friend Emily, this once dream is quickly turning into reality.

I was out in Chicago this past weekend for bodysuit fitting, pattern making, make up testing, and all the other doo dads needed. Emily has more progress pics than I, but here is what I have.

Fabric for the quilted pieces and red Ultraleather:

    Emily cutting the a pattern:

    Emily sewing:

The bodysuit arms with lower arms pattern pinned on:

A make up test... maybe we should of waited until the morning instead of doing it late Friday night after I had driven 4 hours, stuffed myself on Greek food, and played with kittens. LOL!

    Looking surly

    Looking snobby

Emily applied a white base, then airbrushed me blue. My lips are painted blue and are obviously too dark. We went shopping and found a pale blue eyeshadow that will work and will be sealed with a clear but pearlesent lip gloss. Looks MUCH better.

We're still looking into ways to streak my hair. The airbrush looks okay for blending and around the roots but we want to avoid airbrushing all my streaks. We tried Hot Head Streak'n Wash-Out Hair Colour Electric Blue but it was too runny and didn't stand out. So we picked up Jerome Russell B-wild! Temporary Color Spray Bengal Blue. I'll give that a try and see what happens.

The end product for those unfamilier with the character:

Where will you wear this costume? She is very talented to be able to make something like that!

Emily is shooting for Wizard World Comic Con. It's in Chicago this August.

I'd also wear it to Dragon*Con which is in Atlanta, GA.

Emily is very talented. Here's her website full of costumes she's made. http://homepage.mac.com/bohemian_junkie/

    Thanks for the comments!

And what an ending, huh?! We didn't even find out who/if they survived, won or anything. I did read that Whedon is looking into creating some TV movies for the series.

I heard about that too. I just hope they can convince David to do the project. I heard he didn't want to do any tv movies or reunion shows. :\

Perhaps Joss will have some good news. He's the guest of honor at Wizard World in Chicago. Amber Benson will be there too.

UGH David is developing SMG syndrome where he doesn't want anything to do with what made his career anymore . I can understand the need to move on but, but it's upsetting to the fans .
