Big Boy!

Hi Everyone!

Had a family picnic at a nearby state park, pretty nice place. I took lots of pics. I wanted to post this one real quick. His name is Rocco. He was HUGE!!! He truly was a gentle giant!

Katie and Tori were with me but on the other side of the creek that I had to cross. I didn't want to even try to take them with me. Although that big dog was so sweet that I really don't think it would have been a problem. He had to weigh close to 200 pounds and far outweighed his owner. No leash just slowly walking by his dad. A sweet big boy. He is 3 years old.

I've got pics of some other cuties too, of course that includes my own Need to get to bed soon and don't have time to mess with the pictures right now.

What a gorgeous boy!!

He reminds me of a dog I met at the pound while volunteering. He was a massive dog but he was the sweetest dog I've ever met!

He's a beautiful dog! What kind is he? One time, Kay and I saw this huge shepherd and got a pic of Duke beside it. I'll have to see if I can find it and show you.

I'd think just looking at the picture he is just a plain Mastiff. Bull mastiffs are actually a bit smaller than regular mastiffs, despite the name sounding like they would be bigger. They are called bull mastiffs because they were bred with bulldogs (thus why they are a bit smaller than regular mastiffs).

I just recently learned that too, Jess. You'd think a "bull" Mastiff would be the bigger of the two! I saw a brindl Masitff at the vet's the other day. Oh, this boy was HUGE!!! A little wiener pup actually tried to mix it up with him, lol! The big guy just stared down and drooled on him

Buddy and I recently saw a great dane that was 180 pounds and soooo tall that buddy (who is 70 pounds himself and not small) could walk UNDER the dane without squatting or touching the under belly of the gentle giant!! i've seen lots of GDs before, but never one that huge. His name was Bumpus!
