Two of my fosters *might* have a home

I got an email from a girl who lives with her bf and they want to adopt 2 cats. She mentioned Lucky and Chance sound great but she said she'd like to meet my others as well.

She said her cat got "stolen" from her porch (why do people always think this? cats can escape!). She did say that she would keep her new cats indoor only from now on because of that, but I am still a worry wart! My cats are such sissies and I dont even want to think what would happen if they got outside.

I feel uncomfortable but I know I should at least give her a chance (no pun intended!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

I'm asking for some powerful PT prayers for a safe home for 2 of my babies.

Aww, don't worry. Im sure she will do better to keep her cats safer now. I know I'm going too.

Most learn by mistake so maybe she learned her lesson. I would tell her they are not use to being outside AT ALL and they MUST stay inside or she will just have to go find some somewhere else... Then relay some horriable stories of what can happen to them outside... Annoy a neighbor and get shot, kicked or fed anti freeze..Road kill, stolen to be abused and abused for fun.. Paint her a true and accurate picture of what all happens out there in the world now.. Not to mention the diseases it can get in cat fights..

Oh I REALLY wish I could If I kept them all though, it would put me at 8 cats, 2 dogs, (and soon to be a birdy in the family too). I don't feel like I could provide long-term care financially for that many animals To keep them all up to date on shots, flea & tick prevention, heartworm prevention, food, and emergency vet visits equals to sooooooo much money. Since I just graduated college, I'm not exactly that wealthy

It was so stupid of me to not be more proactive in finding them homes earlier. I've never had fosters this long. A lot started happening in my life and I just felt so comforted by having these kitties around. I love them so much and am having a hard time imagining letting them go. I don't feel like anyone is good enough for them (with the exception of PT people of course!).

Another thing is if I start keeping too many fosters, then I won't have room to foster other needy animals. I keep having to tell myself that.

My husband just walked in and asked me what was wrong - just from the look on my face. He read this and shook his head. He knows how attached I've become without even meeting them in person - he also thinks I'm crazy but anyway.

I think I'm going to cry. Oh Aly, I know your finances are stretched but please don't let this person take them if there is any chance she will let them go outside.

Don't worry Lori, my fosters don't go anywhere unless I'm 100% comfortable with the situation.

I was considering not even emailing the girl back. But to be fair to my fosters, and to her, I'm going to talk to her and get a feel for her.

My heart is just breaking.

We need to convince Lori's husband that he needs to let a little bean boy and his naughty brother into the house!

She may end up wanting Merlin, Magic or Missy instead of Lucky and Chance. Who knows. The only thing I do know is she probably won't want my snot Maya

I know you are very careful about you let adopt, Aly. I totally trust you and I know you will make the best decision for the boys - or the "M" gang if she's more interested in them.

I'll try not to cry too hard. I had my husband read what you said and he just laughed. I don't think we are going to convince him that the boys should travel from TX to TN to live here.

Well I know that Amy (wolf_Q) is very interested in Lucky and Chance too. But she can't adopt them until she finds a house.

Maybe she'll find one and can adopt them so at least they'd stay on PT

In the meantime, I'm still trying to work up the nerve to even email this girl back. She just emailed me again and gave me her cell number because she'll be out of town this weekend.

Well life wouldn't be as bad if they went to a PTer. I know that way you and I would both be happier. Shall I start sending house finding vibes to Amy?

Please let us know what you decide to do and how it goes if you talk to her - which I know you will but I'm just like my Dad and feel the need always give reminders.
