    When should I be worried?

I know maybe this doesn't sound like much but Angus hasn't been feeling good today at all Besides taking his pills with some PB, he's not eaten. He won't even take a bite of cooked chicken.
He ate a little yesterday (about a cup-1/2 yesterday morning and 1/2 last night).
He's also thrown up 3x's today (yucky yellow stuff).
Also my little niece came over tonight and he barely even cared. This is not like him AT ALL. He even stayed outside when we ate dinner It's like he just wants to be by himself. I walked outside after we were done eating and he didn't even open his eyes till I walked out and touched him and then he just barely opened them
I think if he doesn't feel any better by tomorrow I'm going to take him to the vets.

Am I just worrying over nothing?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Oh Anna,

I hope it's nothing serious. Hopfully he'll be himself tomorrow.

Katie can be like that too sometimes. She just wants to sleep, and not care about nothing or anything. But she is always herself the next day.

I'll be thinkn' about him tonight, and try not to worry yourself.

Gosh, I think I'd be worried enough to get him to the vet's tomorrow if he's not back to normal. Check to see if his nose is hot, or take his temperature. If it's high, I'd see the vet for sure!

    When should I be worried?

Anna, Sorry Angus isn't feeling well. Sometimes I really do wish they could talk... I'm a worry wart, especially with the furry kids, they're our only kids.

Hugs >< to You and Angus

Oh Anna I know how worried you must be seeing him not behaving like his normal self. I think a visit to the vet is the only way you are going to put your fears to rest. Maybe it is nothing more than Angus being bothered by the heat or maybe even could this be a side effect from his medicine? I guess the only one who can answer that will be your vet. Please do let us know what happens. I will say a little prayer for your big boy. Feel better soon Angus. You have many friends here who are worrying right along with your mom. (((hugs)))

    Anna,

You definitely are not worrying about nothing. Angus may just have some kind of bug like we might get and he may be better tomorrow. My advice would be if he is not better and still acting the same way tomorrow I would call the vet. We all worry when it comes to our kids and we never know if or when we should call the doctor. At least I know that this has always been my problem. I'm always worried I'm jumping the gun and being a little paranoid. I say jump the gun and err on the side of caution. Thats my opinion. I hope it helped some.

I hate to hear that Angus isn't feeling well. Please give him a hug and kiss for me. Keep us updated!

    Feel better soon, Angus.

Poor Angus! I hop eyou are feelingbetter soon!

Anna, I know it is a greater concern with senior dogs, but Sadie will sometimes not eat much for a day or two when she isn't feeling good. I didn't read others reponses, so maybe someone has already said this, but the yellow stuff is stomach bile and just means his stomach is empty. Dogs know when thier stomachs are quite right and often won't eat. Maybe try a little boiled chicken or hanburger tomorrow. It is easier for the dogs to digest then kibble, and small amounts better on an empty stomach so there is no temptation to overeat and get sick from that.

I would definitley take him to the vet.. I don't mean to scare you, but those symptoms sound like what Brooke had before she had to go to the doggy ER. Brooke wouldn't eat or drink anything, kept throwing up, wasn't acting like herself, was always panting and crying and just wanted to go outside and sleep in the grass. She wouldn't really respond to any of us. I would take him in to make sure there isn't a problem.. you can't be too careful..

By the way, what kind of medicine is Angus on?

    Poor Angus.

My RB dog, Penny, used to get like that sometimes, off her food and vomiting that bile stuff. Like Amy wrote, she would eat and keep down small amounts of boiled chicken & rice and be ok in a day or so.

I so hope dear Angus is feeling better today, but if not, despite what I wrote above about Penny, I wouldn't shillyshally about but get that precious boy right to the vets, just to be sure.

Good thoughts are coming your guy's way... I hope it's nothing serious. Maybe call the white coats and ask about it.

    Still no change

He's not feeling any better this morning I tried to offer him a small piece of chicken and he turned his head.

He threw up 3x's last night (12:30, 3:30 and just at 6:15-about an hour ago). It has to be the worst smelling stuff ever.
I think he's throwing up any water at all that he had in him. The last time he drank was around 7pm last night.

I'm definately calling the vets so I can get him in asap.

    The medication:
I wouldn't think it would be that since he's been on it for 3 weeks, but I guess you never know.

    He's taking:
    Proin 50 for incontinence (2/day).
    Geri-Form vitamins (1/day).
    And .6mg Thyro-Tabs (2/day).
    Along with a glucosamin, condrotin/msn supliment (1/day).

Thanks for all the wishful thoughts. I'll let you know asap what the vet says.

I would take him to the vet ASAP! I'm so sorry to hear he's not doing well. Makes me very sad and I can only imagine how you feel. When Duke was bad sick last year, I was beside myself with worry and sadness. I hope so much that it's just his medication. Please let us know what the vet says when you get home and give that sweet Angus a big hug from me.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
