    Ch-Chows

Okay, I want to let you all in on a little known secret. There is a very important part of a cat's anatomy that I bet you all know little about. About 25 years ago, my mother and I realized that there was not a name for the puffy parts on either side of a cat's mouth where the whiskers are attached. For those of you that have been plagued by and lost sleep over the fact there wasn't a name for these...your turmoil is over. They are called....Ch-Chows! some kittas have tiny ones and some have almost obscenely big ones! I fear some have had theirs injected with silicone to make them bigger. To brighten up your grocery shopping experience sometime, go down the cat food aisle and rate the ch-chows on a 1-10 scale! Then congratulate yourself on the full and rich life you lead as a cat lover!
Now that I have made a fool of myself by sharing our ridiculous family "cat talk" (and there is much more to it but I am restraining myself), share some of yours! I know we are not the only ones who talk silly to our cats!

Yes! Finally! someone with a whacky sense of humour- just like me! Howdy!

I got a word- when Merlin got neutered, I told everyone he was getting his "goolies" cut off! And another regarding pressies in the littler tray- piddle(urine) & poolie Faeces)!

Dogs are not dogs to our cats, no, they are "wowies!" They have always been introduced as such!

The part of their nose that quivers when they smell something is called "nosebuds". When you cook something that smells good that "gets their nosebuds working".

My dad and I used a code word to describe poop not-in-the-litterbox, so as not to upset my grandpa when he was living with us.
We were often left "presents" by Napoleon when he was in a bad mood. He also did "the big yellow naughty" to mark his territory even though he was fixed. Alex goes to the groomer to get his fur stolen. And they play dish hockey (scooting the food dish all over the kitchen with their nose) to get the last morsel of wet food.

I was flipping through my book on tigers the other day, and cats do not have a name for that fuzzy hair that grows out of their ears. So now I call it "hear-block." All kidding aside, I think it is why my cat never listens to me and likes to ignore me when I call her. She is only 8!

Uh, I think that's what my mother used to call "selective hearing" - we'd hear when she called us for a fun reason, but never hear - "Hey, you forgot to do this chore!"

My family has always called that puffy part on either side of the cat's mouth "whisker holders." Made sense to me!
