There is a smattering of restaurants high on a cliff overlooking where the rivers split and overlooking the city lights at night. Absolutely gorgeous view. I've had some of the most delicious meals and THE best steaks I've ever had at some of those restaurants. Used to travel there on business a few times several years ago but never spent much time in the city.

I've been to Pittsburgh! And I thought it was beautiful. Downtown is so homey and cute.

Nah, That's the OLD Pittsburg. Its BEAUTIFUL now. My husband and I were actually thinking of moving out there for a while. The city is clean and well-cared for. The industry is booming - I beleive computers - much more than I can say for Reading & Allentown right now (Billy Joel pretty much got it right.. gonna step in here Jen? )

You're right, Catnapper, but I think alot of people still have the idea that Pittsburgh is a smokey city.

Lets see now, The Pittsburg Pirates!! When I was younger, my son and I was huge fans of the the Pirates, we had shirts, coats and he had a cap with their name on it! I think it was Willie Stargel that was playing for them back when we were such big fans. Well anyway, I think that was his name.

As far as the town, I always heard it was a beautiful city!!

Oh no, not at all, I loved that man!! I loved the way he would dig himself in, when he was up to bat! Oh, yeah, I really loved watching the pirates on tv, and so did my son, James.

Willie, I loved the Pirates back then. I liked them in the 70s winning the world series 71 & 79.

I have only been to Pittsburgh a few times. Mostly to the Airport and one time downtown to get my fiance's fingerprints for INS. I wasn't overly impressed. It is ok for a city I suppose. It was a bit dirty and crowded and annoying. I don't really care for Philly either. Well. Lets be honest here. I don't really care for any city. *LOL*

I grew up in S. Calif in Northern San Diego Co. in a little beach town called Encinitas. That was back in the 60's and 70's when it wasn't very populated and there were many hills for me to ride across and acres upon acres of flower field. I moved from there to El Paso TX where I lived in the desert training horses. I went from there to PA where I attended Penn State University and have just remained here. I love State College where we have some of the advantages of "city" life such as plays and concerts yet I live on 11 acres of wooded mountain land just east of SC.

I have been to downtown San Diego, LA area, New York City, Montreal and Vancouver. The only city out of all of those I would have even barely considered living in was Vancouver BC. So don't take it too personally about Pittsburgh...*L*
