The publicity for the shelter has been tremendous lately, so we have had a great many open kennels - but within the last week the shelter is full again. Here are a few of the new adoptable dogs we have right now. There are some beautiful dogs just waiting for their forever homes.
This is Ginger - a chow mix that captured my heart today. Another sweet girl that is great with other dogs and wants to play with the cats too!!! A joy to walk and very smart - I had her heeling is just 10 minutes.
This is Dakota - a beautiful Husky that was found wondering the downtown area by the post office. I really want to see her get adopted quickly, as husky's do not do well in shelter environments. She is just the sweetest thing with typical Husky stubborness and lovable sweetness.
This is Peewee. A terrier mix who is the typical terrier - full of energy and full of love. This girl is happy to play a good game of fetch and just as happy sitting on your lap.
There are more dogs that will be up for adoption soon - we have a beautiful (probably purebred) collie who is the sweetest thing. She is still on stray hold, but will either go on the adoption floor or go to a rescue organization by the end of the week. We also have a beautiful GSD who is a court case (abuse) who is extremely shy and cowering in the back of her cage, but I have been making friends and she is starting to come to the front of the kennel when I come by. It is amazing what hot dogs will do to make friends. My sister has already offered to foster her once the court proceedings are complete. We also have 2 (also purebred) Dobies that just came in today. They are pretty stressed, but hopefully we can work with them a little as well soon. (Going to have to buy more hotdogs)
