They have named her Charlize. She is so tiny.
This town is about 35 miles south of Indy.



Vandals torture kittens

Bartholomew County, June 2 - Little Charlize is a one-month-old kitten that survived torture by vandals. Bartholomew County Humane Society officials say someone hung her upside down with a rope and burned the kitten with a lighter.

"It burned all the hair on her face to the nasal passage," says Jane Irwin with the Humane Society. "The tip of her tongue and her lips are burned. I have done this job 25 years, I still can't get my mind around this level of evil."

Charlize is getting good care and will be adopted by the animal control officer investigating the case.

Two other kittens died from abuse.

Poice say vandals damaged equipment at a Taylorsville grain bin where the kittens lived.

The Humane Society already raised more than $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.

OMG it makes me sick to my stomach and then extremely mad. Thank goodness that Charlize has found someone who will care for her and give her the good life she deserves.

This makes me want to sit here and cry...I am so brokenhearted hearing this story. I hope this precious kitten heals physically and her heart heals with a loving home with the one who is adopting her. I can't believe "people" would take an innocent baby and do something so cruel. I just hope the old saying "what goes around comes around" holds true for these filth of the earth. Some may not agree with me, but I believe those who have done this should pay, and with more than just money!!! Best wishes to Charlize and I hope she will recover soon!!!

This is such a horrendous act. How can people that do these kinds of things live with themselves. I sure hope that they catch these evil people.

Prayers and positive thoughts are going out to little Charlize. I sure hope that she recovers.

OMG.... that is all i can say, im speechless. I just wanna cry for the poor kittens. Im glad Charlize is alright and will be adopted. It really scares me that there are so-called "people" out there like this. The consequences for murdering a animal should be that of a human. Life is life.
