    Turkish farmer killed by cow

    A Turkish farmer has been killed by a cow that leapt out of a truck that was taking it to an abattoir.

    The cow was among a herd being transported through the western Turkish province of Eskisehir when it got loose and jumped from the lorry onto the road.

    The 65-year-old farmer happened to be walking along the road with his own herd of cattle when the cow landed on him.

    He suffered severe injuries and died on the way to the hospital, reports Turkish news agency Anadolu.

    The cow was unhurt and escaped recapture because officials were unable to distinguish it form the other animals in the herd.
