Ohh, lookie what my hubby is making me today!

    A raised strawberry bed!

Last week I had talked about planting strawberries and David asked where I would put them. He had been dreading trying to get out this old apple tree stump and so I said, "Why not put a little bed around the stump? It would have a natural look and I could use the stump to make a tent with bird nets to keep them out of the berries." So after I got back from a tiring grocery shopping trip, I went out back and that is what I saw.

I'll have to snap a couple more when it's all done! I just thought it was kind of a neat picture to get it in the midst of construction.

What a great idea - and so sweet of him. The stones he chose are really nice too!

It's a wonderful garden you have there!

What a clever man you married! Could you please send him over here! I have lots of good ideas but have a hard time selling hubby on them! What a great idea. I can hardly wait to see the finished project and strawberries, strawberries, strawberries! It looks like Tasha is wondering what is going on.

Thanks for the comments all . He is very talented at doing these projects I think. He has done some work in his mother's yard and has had a lot of compliments on his work, as well as people asking advice. He loves to watch Home and Garden channel, the programs that talk about how to do projects, and he also has quite a library of books on various yard and gardening subjects. One of his favorite shows on H&G network is Gardening by the Yard.

Anyway, here is the finished bed, with baby strawberry plants and all. It's a bit hard to see the plants. The dark spots in the mulch is where they are at.

I've been going all day too with various projects, but none of my things look so impressive

Mmmmm Strawberries! One of my favorites.

Can you send some down when they start growing?

We have TONS of fresh tomatoes from our plants we just took down.
