Our newest furkid ... no name yet!

My husband and I adopted an adult neutered male today from our HIGH KILL Shelter. He had a very long and busy day ..... getting dewormed, Feline Shot, Rabies Shot and tested for Feline Leukemia! Thank GOD he was NEGATIVE .... and he got his Feline Leukemia SHOT today as well! (All of this before he came home!) He is also in quarantine in our bedroom for 3 or 4 weeks .... to give the vaccine time to build up his immunity. Poor baby is rather pooped out and feeling a bit unwell from all of the vaccines today. He has been sleeping on our bedroom recliner all day.

This boy was quite the "salesman" about being noticed! He would reach out and tap everyone all the shoulder who was within reach of his cage! The past several days, which I have spent visiting and socializing feral kittens, this guy would cry and cry for my attention. I would open his cage and he would stretch his legs up to my shoulder and just purr and purr .... yep, he was very persistant, and it paid off for him!

We are trying to come up with a name for him .... I keep pressuring the hubby to put in his suggestions .... hoping to have a decision sometime tomorrow!

Well, enough talk .... here "he" is....

Poor baby's tail has been broken in two places sometime in his life ... so it has a definite crook in it!

You are right, Debbie ... the first picture shows his true color! Funny though, from the side view he is more orange and has striping on his lower half .... but straight on he is more champagne and no stripes!

All this talk of champagne coloring has put alcoholic beverages in mind. Maybe you could call him Bourbon? Well, whatever you call him, he's a very beautiful boy!

Kim, thank you, and your husband for welcoming this sweet boy into your hearts and your home.
I predict purrs and snuggles tonight.

He looks like a Carrington to me. Don't know where that name came from, but, it's what popped in my head. Something high class, but, southern.....Rhett. Ha, just brainstorming. He's really beautiful!

    Thanks, Dogz!

Beautiful boy! I posted a picture about a week ago of Tabby, the kitty I rescued last winter and he looks identical to your orange baby. Orange/cream tabbies are always so friendly, aren't they?

I'm very happy though to see this darling has found his forever home, how wonderful!

We had a post/poll awhile back and it was pretty overwhelmingly in the opinion that orange males were the very sweetest! Genetic maybe?? Of course I am not partial just because I happen to have the sweetest orange boy in the world! SHH!!! Don't tell him that you guys say the same thing to your cats! He really believes me

He is beautiful! The first name that came to mind was Aspen. I don't know why....

    Thank you Wolfie!

Looking at those pictures reminds me of my former kitty from when I was very young (8 years old) named Donut. I miss my tabby.

What a cutie!!! He looks kind of like a buff from the front. I'm so glad to know that he has a wonderful new home!! I don't think he could have been blessed with a better place to live!!!
Since everyone is calling him a champagne color maybe you could just shorten that and call him Champ!
No matter what you call him he is gorgeous!!!
    Congratulations!

Oh! He is so pretty. I love his coloring and his coat is so soft looking. I hope he is feeling better and has had plenty of rest after his busy day. How is he behaving with you and hubby? Has he warmed up to you. Your pics are great and I love the one of him curled up sleeping. I am not good with names. It took me forever to name our new pup. The name Jack did pop into my head but I think that is because we use to have a orange male tabby named Jackie.

More pics when you get a chance!
