    Found a dog.....

    Or well, it found us.

I am housesitting/pet sitting right now and I was getting Roxy (the dog I am watching) her breakfast when I heard her making all sorts of weird noises at the front door. So I went to go see what she was making a fuss about and saw this gorgeous husky (or husky cross) just peering in at us. I grabbed some treats and then opened the door and grabbed his collar. He had a tag with his name and number on it and a city license. His name is Prince. I called the number and left a message. If I don't hear from them by 5:00 or 6:00 (they might be working) I will call the pound to come get him. He is outside on the deck right now. Even though the yard is fully fenced I don't want to take the chance of him escaping so he is attached to the cats drag line as well.

Here are some pics of him.

Just as I was typing this his mom phoned and told me her husband was on his way to come pick him up.

    Edited to add:
And just as I was posting this the doorbell rang. Boy was Prince ever happy to see his dad. LOL Turns out they had just gotten a new fence put up this weekend and well Prince taught them it wasn't as sturdy as they thought it was.

    *Thanks Ashley*

Oh, he gorgeous. I'm glad he had a place to go back to--Trust a husky to find a way out! I had an email once that was about what a husky would say if he could talk. One part was that building a fence was basically like saying "i dare you to find a way out" !

BTW, he's either a purebred husky with a wooly coat or a mal-husky mix IMO.

Oh he is very handsome! Good for you for helping him to find his owners.

It is so great of you to help Prince. My family laughs at me because I take home every stray I see I brought about 7 dogs to their homes last summer I'm glad to hear the happy ending.

That's sort of along the lines I was thinking. He was kinda small so I was thinking wooly husky.

As for the fence issue, once I heard that's why he was loose I just thought "typical" LOL He was really sweet and sooooo happy to see his dad.

Yeah my dad doesn't like me bringing home strays. I used to do it a lot though when I lived in the city. One time though I brought home a mastiff cross that found us while I was out walking Emily. They were playing in the yard and the mastiff stepped on Em and she got really hurt. X-rays and 3 weeks rest and she was back to walking normally. So now I'm always careful to seperate them from my dogs.
