MINI PT MEETING W/ KATER *PICS*

On Friday Kater came over to visit! She took the bus from Madison to Brookfield, and my dad and I drove out to Brookfield to pick her up. We got home and we played with the rats and the cats for the longest time. Dudley was even brave enough to play with Kate which is amazing-seeing how he hates visitors. We gave Sammy and Dudley a bunch of catnip which made them nice and wild! Then, Kate and I went to Target and had dinner at Noodles & Company. When we got back we watched The Black Stallion with Phoebe and Fred. They sat inside her sweater pocket, and Phoebe enjoyed it so much and was so relaxed she fell asleep inside Kate's pocket!

She stayed over night, and on Saturday we celebrated Sammy's 1st birthday!! We went to PetCo and bought him a bunch of presents including a new drinking fountain, a bag of EXTREMELY stinky catnip, jingle balls, a leopard wrestling mit, and some Nutro cat treats. We also went to Bartz's Party Store and bought a bunch of helium balloons and some pom pons- thinking he would LOVE to play with them. Well, it turns out he was TERRIFIED of the balloons and wanted nothing to do with them. So, we put the balloons in another room. I also made him a little cake of tuna lined with whipped cream- with a little on top- topped off with a cherry and fresh catnip leaves on the side. He LOVED the cake!

Then, after Sammy's party we went nextdoor and got Tasha and took her for a walk to the park!! That was a blast!! Kate's going to kill me for some of these pictures...

I had so much fun, it was such a joy to meet Kate- she is an awesome person!! I wish she wasn't going back to Hawaii, so we could get together again sometime when it's warmer and do more stuff outdoors!! Waa, I miss Kate!

Sammy is so cute, and so is Dudley, of course! Too bad they didn't play with the balloons.

Oh believe me, I know how much she needs a dog - but, I myself don't really need one, so she'll have to wait until she gets a place of her own.

Well, those 2 pulled a good prank on the old mom on Friday night - I was doing the night shift at the store where I work, and this customer came up to me, a nice young lady, and started asking me incredibly stupid questions. She had an electrical outlet plate in her hand, and asked me if it would be safe for her son to lick! I'm standing there thinking 'please tell me there aren't people in the world this clueless', and asked her why on earth her son's tongue would be anywhere near an electrical outlet in the first place. She said "he just likes to", and I pretty much just said NO, it is not designed to be licked, and walked away, hoping that she was just a fruitcake trying to pull my chain and didn't seriously have a child at home licking outlet plates. It wasn't until a few minutes later that I thought 'wait a minute - tall, young, long brown hair - looked kind of like that picture of Kate I saw once..........' Anyway, when I got home, Laura could barely look me in the eye without giggling, and I came around the corner into the family room and sure enough, there was that same girl

Kate sure is a sweetie - she can come and visit us anytime! (She might not want to though until I have the house vacuumed better - turns out her cat allergy is pretty serious !)
