    YES, Kay...

    BUTT - Don't *sweat it...

    I've been working with the Hancock Parks Director to devise
    a "Visiting Dogs Policy"
    that the Parks & Health Departments can agree to;
    AND that the Local Taxpayers (who really *own* the Park),
    will feel is fair to all.

    What is Absolutely POSITIVE is that *ALL* "Visiting Dogs"
    will be *Required* to bring WITH them and possibly Turn In ~

    1) COPY of a Vet's Receipt showing that Annual Vaccinations were
    . . given within the Last Year;

    2) COPY of a Rabies Shot Vaccination showing that the shot
    . . is CURRENT (within 1 or 3 years - depending on the vaccine used)

    3) Dog should WEAR its City/County/State LICENSE,
    . . as well as its Rabies Tag.

    WE will get the "policy" worked out with Parks...
    "Guest Permits" are being considered.

    We'll keep you posted -
    but you "Out of Towners" can start rounding up
    Items #1, #2 and #3 above.

    Bottom Line - Don't *Sweat It*!!
    We'll get the FurKids IN!!

    Thanks for the info Phred!

    I'll have to get copies at the store.
    They wear their tags 24/7 so that's no problem.

    Katie and I will be there on the 18th. Can't wait! Not for sure what I'm going to bring. I'll be sure to bring something though

    Since Katie and I will probably be coming to a few of the get togethers, how do we go about registering for the dog park? I'd like to get that taken care of.

    I believe you can print of an application online. Ithink Phred posted alink once before, but I don't remember which thread...if he doesn't reply soon, you can do a google search for Hancock County Parks and should be able to find it.

    Basically, you need to send vet records and $10 to The Hancock County Park Office, 1424 East Main Cross Findlay Oh, 45840.

    ( Check payable to Hancock County Parks Field of Dreams)

    Findlay Dog Park Permits ~

    How do we go about registering for the dog park?
    Here are *links* to two Hancock Parks District web pages;

    The first link has an brief "Tail" about the Dog Park at the
    Very BOTTOM of the page >>>

    Hancock Parks / Riverbend DOG PARK

    And here is the *link* to see and PRINT the
    Dog Park Yearly Permit Application >>>

    Hancock DOG Park PERMIT Application (note: is an Adobe .pdf file)

    NOTE: You Must Have "Adobe Acrobat Reader" installed on
    your 'puter to Load & See this .pdf file...
    If you don't have Adobe Reader -
    I guess PM Me at "Cinder & Smoke" and we'll get you a form.

    Note 2: The Application is TWO Pages long -
    be SURE to Print Page 1 AND Page 2;
    Page 2 is a WAIVER that Must Be Signed & Returned -
    and is at the Very BOTTOM of page 2.

    What you need to SEND IN with the Application is >>

    1) CHECK made out to Hancock Parks Foundation with
    Memo to: Dog Park Permit

    2) COPY (originals won't be returned) of the Dog's
    . . Annual Vaccination Record from the VET...
    . . (A Copy of the Office Visit Receipt is fine if the SHOTS
    . . are noted & has Vet's Name on it).
    . . DATE needs to be within ONE Year of now.

    3) COPY of RABIES Vaccination Receipt ...
    . . DATE within 1 or 3 years - depending on the vaccine used;
    . . Most Rabies Receipts show an EXPIRATION date for the shot -
    . . Rabies Vacc must be "current" (not expired).

    4) All Dogs must also be "Licensed" by the City, Town, County,
    or State where you LIVE. Fido should be *wearing* his/her License.

    Send it all to:
    Hancock Parks District
    Attn: Dog Permit
    1424 Eeast Main Cross Street
    Findlay, OH 45840

    Cost of $10 / year registers 1, 2 or 3 Dogs.
    You'll receive a Plastic Laminated "Permit Card" in the Mail -
    BRING IT WITH you on visits -
    they WILL be Checking Permits this year!!

    A note about the "DATES" shown on your Receipts ~
    Parks is "happy" if the Dates on the Vet & Rabies Receipts are
    "Current" within the LAST 12 Months of when you send them in...
    In other words; if Fido had his "Shots" anytime AFTER April 1 of 2003 -
    he's Good to Go!

    And a 3 year Rabies shot is good if it was given
    AFTER April 1, 2001.

    ** Write DOWN the ZIP Code - they forgot to put it ON the Application!

    And: The Application has LAST year's Dates on it - "2003" -
    don't worry - They'll send a 2004 Permit!

    ANY Questions??
    Post em or PM me.

    Mike and I talked about it last night and this morning and we are beginning to question whether or not we will be attending this year. It's turning into a bigger hassle than it's worth. We will probably come to the May meeting, but, are still debating about others.

    So, we will make a command decision in plenty of time to let you all know, so if we can't make it, other arrangements can be made for the main course.
