Oh gosh, she is beautiful. I would take her if I could! What happened to her owners? Every Saturday in our paper the humane society posts a pic of a pet from the shelter. Today was a beautiful 2 year old siberian husky. It just breaks my heart. I would have definitely adopted one if it hadn't been for Alden surprising me like he did. The good news is that the husky was adopted. The Saturday ones usually do get adopted out. I go to their website all the time to see what they have. I shouldn't torture myself like that but I just always have to see them and say a little prayer for them. I hope that beautiful Dal finds a forever home soon.

RobiLee, i'm so happy your local humane society puts a shelter dog in the newpaper. i wish ours did. i LOVE huskies and i'm always so sad to see them in shelters.

isis,my parents don't like dals either.they think they are mean. i do agree they aren't great with kids, but they are not mean! they are just another breed with a sad rep.

Theres this cat shelter down here called Feline Hope Cat shelter.
Every Sunday they put an ad in the paper with a pic of a cat. There not a kill shelter. I think thats great.

Lute, It's not that she thinks there mean, it's just she thinks there ugly.

I know, same with my parents. They don't like some breeds of dogs just because of their looks

Oh my, this girl is beautiful! I can't understand how anyone thinks they're ugly or mean because they are neither. Just ask the many people here at PT who have dalmations or dalmation mixes! We also had one when I was younger and he was a doll.
If I had room, I'd snag her up in a minute!!!

She is so beautiful!!!! I hope she finds a home.

Lute- There are two Dal rescues in Ohio you could try...One is Willing Hearts in Cincinnati, they other I don't remember their name, but they are on petfinder.

i do agree they aren't great with kids.
Even this is part of their bad reputation. Yes, dals can be excited and play rough. And yes, they need to be trained. But they are no more exuberent then a lab or a lot of other "family dogs"

I have two dal mixes and they are wonderful with kids. Sadie in particular (because I knew her full histroy, where as Spot was 2 1/2 when we got him) I would trust fully with any child, no matter how untrained and mean the child was!! At Christmas time, we took Sadie to my grandma's and my 3 yr old god daughter was all over her...laying on her, pulling her around by the collar, pulling on her feet and tail. Sadie did nothing...when she had enough, she got up and walked away.

Oh, she is so beautiful! But five dogs is all I can handle right now alone by myself while Carl is in Florida by himself with no dogs. But I bet Snoopy would love to have her as a play partner ( I was going to say playmate but I don't want any of that going on around here! lol)
