Thread: Ford Sportka Ad

    Ford Sportka Ad

This ad sickened me. I know it "supposedly" wasn't intended for release and leaked out... but the fact that they even made it turns my stomach!

I'm never buying a Ford automobile after this...

Someone within the advertsing company must have done this as a form of sick personal humor. I really can't see Ford agreeing to a spot like that in a million years.

Even so... that is Ford's money that the ad company is messing with and I can't see an ad company runing it's reputation to film something Ford didn't agree too.

I never liked Ford and now I have the icing on the cake to never drive their stuff.

    Disgusting.

Ad agencies often do stuff "on spec" without any knowledge or complicity from the client. Ford itself may have had nothing to do with the idea, or the filming, and may have been every bit as appalled as we all are.

I worked for several years at an ad agency, which is how I know. All it takes is one creative director to say "I have a great idea - let's do X!" and then to convince other people it's great ... "The client will love this - you just wait and see ..."

Its stupid, stupid, stupid, but I would not blame Ford. But if you ever need an ad agency, or have influence in that area, you know which one NOT to hire.

You know, I'm not really a cat or bird person, but those are the most disgusting and cruel things I've ever seen in the name of advertising.

I do agree, the car is ugly and cheap looking, I can't stand Ford to begin with and the morons who made that video ought to have their heads stuck in a sunroof for a couple of hours and then maybe they would think twice before doing something like that again.

    Idiots!

I'm ok with Ford. And, like Karen said anyway, I wouldn't blame Ford for the poor taste in advertising. I watched the bird one, and, that's just disgusting. It really bothered me, and, so, I didn't even try to watch the cat one. I don't think the car is that ugly, but, I wouldn't buy it. I love my escort though.

    Thanks, Dogz!

I agree with Karen in the fact that maybe Ford had nothing to do with the ad. I hope this doesn't turn into a case of misplaced anger and current Ford owners are attacked. *sometimes this happens when a company fouls up on an Ad* The cat thing is cruel and unusual and I don't agree with it for sure.
I own a Ford...I am appaled but Im not going to get rid of a really good vehicle *I think I own the only GOOD Ford on the road...prolly cause the Koreans built it lol*, for the sake of boycotting a retarded company/ad agency. Will I ever BUY a ford (I didn't buy the one I have now lol), No. Never. And it isn't just because of this Ad either...Fords in general as of late are just poor quality hunks of junk.

If you read the whole story you will see ford denying it had anything to do with the particular ad in question. As far as Ford vehicles go, mine seem to be doing fine, and the last GM product I had was a nightmare.

    Thanks for the correction Karen.

    Disgusting!

Karen is probably right ... but if Ford have any sense at all, they will be firing that ad agency. For one thing, the very fact that the ad was made and got leaked is going to be VERY damaging for their reputation.

I can't believe that people would find that sort of thing amusing
