    Barking Mad :(

    Posting for my work mate.

She and her partner have two great cats and a fluffy puppy.

Billy the puppy is a pure breed Springer Spaniel bought from a registered breeder.

They adopted him at 12 weeks old and he loves them and their cats.

He has his own bed/space and spends all day with the 'daddy' as he has an outside job. Billy is rarely alone and he gets plenty of exercise.

He is now 9 months old, he completed basic puppy training and seemed happy.

Couple of days ago he started barking continually, they don't know that is wrong.

I suggested that they take him to the vets for a checkup just in case he is in pain.

But I thought I would ask the PT experts, what can they do ?

Hmmmmmmmmm, I am no expert ....... but even tho he is getting attention, maybe he is barking to get more?

I would suggest you PM Aly and Mugsy ....... they might know (just in case they miss this post)

I heard that some dogs like to bark becaus they are 'protecting' their home. But you could have your friend call the vet, and or ask questions how to stop it.

another Idea, is their any birds, rabbits, squirrls around there? He could just be barking at them.

He is barking all the time, when he is in the home or out.

    With his owners or not.

    With other pets and without.

    Just all the time.

Hopefully they'll take him to the vets.

Strange. Sorry I have no advice to offer.

Maybe one of those Citronella anti-barking collars?

The only thing I can think of is calling the vet. She could be in pain. Were there any major changes in the house?

-thank you Poppy for the avatar.

No changes in the house but he has a vet appointment booked maybe that will help.

    I'll suggest Citronella anti-barking collars.

    Thanks for the advice.
