    Gone to Iraq

    Well, Drake and I said good bye to Andrew this afternoon at 2:30, He is on his way to Iraq and will be there until August or maybe even longer

    I feel terrible for Drake. He knows something is up since I have been crying all day long. I made Andrew leave a few unwashed t-shirts for Drake to be able to cuddle with. But I am certain Drake will not eat much for a few days and will sleep right in front of the door waiting for his daddy.

    I'm sorry to hear that... but I understand bith of you, I lived without my dad about 2 years, because he was in Iceland...I'll keep you both in my thoughts... all will be OK

    Oh Souraya.... How difficult that must have been for you and Drake, saying goodbye I'd be crying my eyes out too. I know how much you two will miss him and how worried you will be for his safety. The good thing is, you and Drake have each other there to lean on and love on and talk to I'm sure Drake will appreciate having Daddy's shirt to sniff I have to admit, there have been times when I've sniffed my husband's shirt too when he's gone and I'm lonely. Any chance he'll be home for leave sometime before August? That would be a something to look forward to. We're here for you Souraya. Please, dry your tears and go give Drakester a big hug and kiss.     It is very hard, I know. Every person with a loved one in the military lives with the knowledge that their loved ones could be sent to dangerous places at any time. Know that Andrew will be in our prayers, as will you and Drake. That thick fur will absorb lots of tears, it's okay. Big hugs to all three of you!

    Souraya, Please know that Andrew, you and Drake are in my prayers for Andrew's safe return. I am so sorry that you two are going to be without Andrew for so long. I know it will even feel longer to you and to Drake. Drake will love having the shirts to sleep on and will have Andrew's smell on them. That will comfort him. You and Drake just do alot of cuddling together and console and comfort each other.

    I will be praying for Andrews safe and quick return.

    Oh, Souraya, I am sad for all three of you. I hope these months will pass quickly for you. But being in a new home, in a different country is tough, I'm sure. Explore Germany, show us lots of pictures, and know that we are all here for you, any time.
