And you wonder why I stay with my job...(PICS)

You all wonder why I put up with the sexual harrasment crap and danger of my job. It's because of days like this. The beauty of working where you hear birds chirping, horses neighing, dogs barking, and little boys laughing as they climb an oak tree make everything worthwhile.

Although the quality is bad, the pictures speak for themselves. I'm sorry the telephone cable is in the way, there was a power transformer above my head, so I couldn't step up any further. (I took these pics from a pole.)

These horses are closer then they seem. What can I say, my camera only cost $88.

These were little minature horses or ponies (I don't know the difference, sorry.) When I first got there, they greeted me at the fence along with 6 identical white German Shephards. It must have been feeding time when I got my camera out because everyone headed towards the barn.

    Thank you Wolfie!

Beautiful pics!!! I'm scared of heights so I don't think I'd be able to have a job like that lol >.< but again, lovely pics! Thanks for sharing! What exactly is it that you do? Just check or fix the wires or something?

I'm afraid of heights too. lol. Actually, I was at first. You get used to it. It's like walking. You aren't even thinking about it. (Usually...) You are to preoccupied with the job, the scenery, or some naked people doing yardwork in their backyard and thinking no one can see them. lol.

I'm in construction for the phone company. I do many things from building dsl and t1 lines to placing cables in manholes and on poles. The biggest busiest thing we've been doing right now is placing cable and terminals for new housing subdivisions.

In this particular job, I was adding a new cable and terminal. (The new cable is the one going into the new terminal on the left side of the pole.) These people were building a house and the old cable and terminal (right side of pole) didn't have any vacant phonelines left. So, to make a long story short, I was adding phone lines to the area to prepare for more building. It's a rural area, so I only added a 25 pair cable, which is the smallest size we have. The largest cable that I can think of that I've placed is 4200 pairs. (One pair equals one phone line.) I hope I didn't bore you with the shop talk. lol.

    Thank you Wolfie!
