    Too Close for Comfort?

Tubby always sleeps with me, and Peanut sometimes sleeps with me - more in winter, less in summer. So it's not unusual that I wake up in the middle of the night and find myself locked in, one on each side of me.

Well, imagine my surprise when I woke up in the middle of the night and not only found them both on the same side, but right next to each other!!! I really believe this is the closest they've ever been for any length of time! And me, being the good Pet Talker that I am even though it was literally 2:00 am and I couldn't see anything because I didn't have my contacts in, I went stumbling upstairs to get my camera to get a pic of it for you guys.

So here they are. You can see Peanut has been so rudely awakened and Tubby's not sure if he has been awakened or not. And of course you'll have to excuse the messy bed because I just climbed out of it.

And yes, I believe Peanut was actually....hold your breath now....touching Tubby!!!

The gunky stuff on Tubby's back is Neosporin. The bacterial spot that was on his tail awhile back cleared up, but then it moved to his back. That spot cleared up, but now there's another one. So hopefully this one will clear up and that will be the end of it already.

Aww. How cute they are. And what a good pet talker you are to try to see to get your camera and a picture. Thank you for posting those pictures.

Now that's a dedicated Pet Talker. She hauls herself out of bed at 2am just to get a picture for us. That's above and beyond the call of duty Sometimes Max and Speckles are sleeping on the bed only a foot away from each other and it truly amazes me. I've come to the conclusion that they must be too sleepy to care.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Debbie - I do a lot for PetTalkers but I am not sure whether that involves taking pictures at 2 a.m.

    Thanks a lot.

And I tell you: Whenever you're not home, Tubby and Peanut do it all the time

I think that's what happened here because I fell asleep with Peanut on top of me and Tubby not in bed yet. So that means she was there first and didn't bother to move when he jumped up. Which is amazing since the second he jumps up anywhere she is, she immediately jumps down. She must be getting more relaxed in her old age. Oh, and I'm doubly surprised because with him licking on her lately, she hates it even more when he's near, but I think she's just getting to lazy to move right away like she used to.

It figures the only night you sleep in a wrinkled bed, THAT has to happen.

Hey! The woman finally gave in!

Now that's a truly dedicated PT'er! We should have some sort of award for 2:00 a.m. pic-taking!

They are TOO CUTE. You KNOW they probably do that all the time when you're not looking!

Cute pictures. Afraid I wouldn't think of getting the camera, I would just go back to sleep.

I'm glad you are so dedicated because you now have proof AND we all got to see it!! I must tell you that you take really good pictures for someone who was half asleep and no contacts!!!
Maybe beautiful Peanut is finally realizing that Tubby really is one big handsome HUNKA!

Or...maybe Peanut didn't have her contacts in either and didn't realize just how close he was!

Ok, ok, so I'm not quite that dedicated.

Thanks everybody. Last night it was so warm here that I only had Tubby in bed. Peanut is like the rest of us who are reaching "that" stage in life and can't stand to be too warm while we're sleeping. Didn't see her until it was time to get up this morning.
