I've Been Boo'd
I've been Frosted
Today is the oldest you've ever been, and the youngest you'll ever be again.

I received that information the day after it happened on one of my shiba groups.
His brother actually lives here in State College, and Denyce contacted him, and he said he wasn't sure what he needed right now, since he was just staying with friends, and didn't have his own place.
I cried when I read that, and donated to the fund for him, I wish there was more I could do.

I can't imagine how heartbreaking it would be to lose 9 dogs
and 4 cats (all rescues) at one time. Material things can be
replaced, but not these sweeties.![]()
Did you read the poem he wrote for them? I will certainly
keep him in my prayers.

Yes, I read the poem, "The Golden Leash". I think I even posted it here somewhere, I believe in Dog General.
I know what you mean though--material things can all be replaced, but not living creatures.![]()
He and his animals are in my prayers nightly.

I have had a few of his poems tucked away in my favorites for a few years now. Tear jerkers for sure. Here's the link I have http://www.crean.com/jimwillis/heroes.html I can't imagine what he's going through right now. The world certainly needs more compassionate people like him right now, and I hope he gets through this. I'd love to read "The Golden Leash" if someone can post the link here.
QueenScoopalot,
I post it from the link here. It is very beautiful.
The Golden Leash
Too soon the hourglass was empty,
Too soon you quietly stole away,
Leaving thirteen empty places,
And me cursing that fateful day.
You'd filled my life with laughter,
Your antics were beyond compare,
Now my days are tinged by sorrow,
With tears over lost friends so rare.
I recall your each and every foible,
Your sad lives before you came to me,
How you'd healed and thrived and blossomed,
I close my eyes and your faces I see.
They say everything happens for a reason,
The divine plan we aren't meant to see,
I know I must go on for the living,
Though I still wish you were here with me.
It was your love that kept me going,
It will be love that allows a new start,
For the rest of my life, I won't forget,
The Golden Leash that connects our hearts.

He is certainly in my prayers too, Liz. Thank you for making us aware of this situation.

How very very tragic. My heart goes out to him. How devastating to lose 13 pets at once. It would just kill me.
