sqwlech- mine usually blink or turn away too.
Edwina's Secretary- Barbara is right; Beau is a dark or sable brown. Although he is getting white hairs scattered through out his coat. I think this due to his age; he didn't have them when he was younger.
Barbara- that picture makes me melt too.

He does look really intent on soemthing in that picture.
He is a great looking boy though.
Cats will get gray and white hairs as the get older. It is just much more noticable on a darker kitty.
