    Prayers For Butterscotch

We just got back little while ago from the vets. Butterscotch has been showing signs of odd behavior. Hiding in closets all day and night. Not being his usual zippy self. I called today and we saw the vet.

He suspects anemia. Why is unknown. They took a blood sample to do a CBC. He also heard a heart murmur which didn't show up in his annual exam Jan 19th. He has lost 1 1/2 lbs in 6 weeks. Our vet suspects the heart murmur is do to anemia.

We will get blood results back on Monday before noon. My eyes are so red its' going to be a long weekend.

Keep him in your prayers and thoughts.

Oh poor Butterscotch. It's the pits how cats can't tell us what's wrong.

He used great caution in speculating treatment plans. As he said, we won't know exact treatment plan until blood results tell us whats causing the anemia. Under normal circumstances anemia is something treatable. Are we normal circumstances, we will find out Monday.

We got to meet the owner of the vet clinic today. Our regular vet (his partner) wasn't in today. He was so good with Butterscotch. Like any excellant vet has to give you good side and bad side of things. Our vet really feels positive. God I hope so too. Hubby and I are just trying to keep it together. This waiting is the pits.

Good thing, he didn't have temp, he isn't dehydrated so I'm trying to keep it that way by giving him the wet tuna. He has moved from closet to under our bed. Butterscotch hasn't forgiven me for taking him in today. I get grawled at allot.
I gave him some tuna when we first got home that was about 1 p.m. He hasn't wanted anything since. I have a bowl of dry food under the bed with him incase he wants to munch. I tried tuna little while ago before he came out of the cloest, he wasnt interested.

I'm so sorry for little Butterscotch. It's going to be a long wait until Monday and I'm praying that it's something treatable.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Butterscotch decided to come out of the closet during the night and slept in his cat bed under the computer table. He isn't interested in tuna or his regular food but is for Whisker Lickin's treats. So guess we will nurish on treats for awhile. I will try some water later.

Thanks everyone for your kinds thoughts, Butterscotch appreciates.

We went out and got some can food that is smothered in gravy and got beef, chicken, turkey baby food. He loves the beef baby food. I put it on my finger and on his nose and he ate, grawled at me the whole time but stuck his tongue out for more. So I guess for at least today Mom will hand feed the baby He wasn't interested in the vanilla yogart maybe later.

Prayers going out your way that whatever is ailing Butterscotch is easily treatable. I remember when RB Goldie was getting sick, those Whiska's treats (the little pouches) was all she would eat. Good thing they aren't too expen$ive! She also liked the baby food.

When Mishi and Mitzi were reacting so badly to the antibiotics after their dental work in December, the vet suggested baby food too. Wrong-O for these two - they were throwing up all over the place.

Glad Buttescotch likes the baby food and hope he's on the mend soon.
