Silly Toby!

Toby will only eat if BOB feeds him!

I thought it was just me - every time I fed him he'd snub the food, then when Bob would come home Toby would meow at him like he was starving to death! He had Bob convinced I wasn't feeding him.

I thought it was just me but I guess he's been doing the same thing to my son.

Yesterday Bob fed him and left the bowl too close to the edge of Toby's counter. I was afraid the dogs would steal the food, but I was also afraid that if I pushed it back, Toby wouldn't eat it! He did eat it though.

Do any of your cats only eat for one person?

He's going to starve when we go on vacation!

I think Toby is a Daddy's baby. It hink it is so funny that he cried like you were not feeding him when the whole time he only wants to eat when his daddy feeds him.

I don't have that problem at my house....they will eat for anybody (little piggies), however at times they will turn their noses up at the food my husband feeds them, and then I can take their dishes and make like I'm giving them something else, and they eat it.

Yeah - Bob calls him "the little liar" because he's always trying to tell Bob that I didn't feed him. He has this loud, pitiful, "I'm going to die of starvation" meow that he uses.

My Mishka does a variation of this – he will only eat if I am in the room. If I leave the room while he’s eating – he will follow me meowing to high heavens as if he has not been fed yet…. and then when we come back to the room – he goes back to his food dish. It’s quite the funny scene in the morning when I am getting ready for work – walking in and out of my room with a meowing cat behind me!!!

Since I'm a single mom to my cat, we don't have that situation here, but Lily refuses to eat when Luna isn't around. Right now, Luna is on a diet food so I have to feed them seperately, but Lily doesn't want to eat her breakfast without Luna's company.

For the most part my cats will eat anything and everything and no matter who gives it to them. (they will tell you I starve them!)

BUT. here is a strange thing. If Charlie feeds Willow and I come in the room he will run away from his dish but if I feed Willow he does not run away. Very strange.

Sammy will only eat from his bowl if hubby and I are in the room. I put his bowl between our recliners and he will eat unless one of us gets up. As long as we both sit there he is happy!! The rest of mine don't really care.
My sister has a cat that will come and cry for you to follow her. She goes to her food bowl and you have to sit on the floor and pat her her behind while she eats!!!! If you stop so does she!!! I don't mean she wants to be rubbed either. I mean a full heavy handed pat! You feel like your spanking her. Too Wierd!!
