Anyone know where to get a hamster or hav information about them?

I am not sure what kind I want. But I want it to be healthy. Pet shops tend to sell unhealthy pets, so I am looking for advice. Please give me some advice on where to get my little hamster, what kind is the best one to get, and/or other information that I should know. Thanks for everything!

i would get a syrian hamster, a male. ..

females go into heat every 4 days and tend to give off a strong smell that isnt pleasent to many ppl .. lol to most ppl it isnt poleasent.

I would get any coat type, i love the long haired syrins though *AKA teddy bears* because you can brush them. and do their hair ..

hamsters cant have baths, they dont like gettingt heir bodies wet. they will clean them selves.

Hammster food is just grains and seeds that you can getat the store, it has all the essental vitamins for hamimes.

Hm, Odd my biology teacher bathes her hamster all of the time and she's completely fine.

I guess it depends on the hamster lol. I used to get a wet toothbrush and brush my hamster for a bath just to make him clean.. Did I mention IM GETTING A HAMSTER!! but when its warmer Its better then not getting one at all!
