    Keeping Busy

    Hi everyone,

I think I am officially over my "downer" - I am still looking for a job, but I am working part-time, and am feeling cheerful enough to post again without risking scaring anyone!!!

I thought you might like to see what I have been up to during my "down-time". I have just finished re-decorating my guest bedroom. I bought some nice "ethnic" goodies when I was back in South Africa for Christmas, and built the theme around that. (There are still a few pics to be hung up - haven't got them back from the framer yet), but I am quite pleased with the way it worked out!

    View from the door:

    Other side of the room:

Close up of the paint - I am really pleased with this - It's not a stick-on border - I painted and stencilled it myself!

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

Hi, Julie! I've missed hearing from you. I'm glad to see you back. I love your bedroom! I may steal your ideas. lol. My living room is currently (sort of) safari style and I'm getting tired of it. That'd be a good easy way to spice it back up!

Right today I was thinking of you. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Remodeling things yourself also gives you good feelings -it's at least my experience.

That room is gorgeous. A pity I cannot find a good reason for my company sending me to Bahrain

Julie, I too, thought that the border was a stick-on type wallpaper trim. But you made it yourself? It just looks great and I also love the colors.

I had noticed that you were not around that much and I am so glad that you are back.

(and people think we don't notice when they post less).

I also like the fabric you have used on the bed covering and the pillows. The room is very inviting.

  12. You have such big rooms! I bet the two tone walls make this one much cozier. And I am so impressed with your border...is that hard on your arm? Holding it up like that while you paint? (I'm not phrasing my question well!)

Love the masks! I have a keychain that looks like them...
